I have little reason to think this will be anything but awesome.

I pretty much agree with your thoughts. Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter with Tim Burton directing has great potential tho. I wonder who will play the queen?

Visually appealing, but not a very memorable film. I liked his version of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory more.

Sweeny Todd, Corpse Bride and Sleepy Hollow were all "meh" for me. I dunno. His style is getting old and is ever so too reliant on Depp's acting.

I didn't actually ever see the Planet of the Apes remake, nor did I have the slightest idea Burton made it.

Frankly, I'm really just a Johnny Depp fan, I don't care much about Tim Burton beyond their association.

Did you hear they are in the Guinness Book of World Records for most films worked on together? I never knew that, I thought for sure someone would have beaten that.

Forgot about Corpse Bride, that was so meh. I did like Sleepy Hollow however.

I think his best films are BeetleJuice, Edward Scissorhands, Nightmare Before Christmas, and Big Fish, in that order.
I also have always loved his first short, Vincent, with narration by Vincent Price.

Hooray for alice in wonderland, meh for another burton/depp movie for the trendy shits to go ape over and ruin.

Much as I love the works of Tim Burton, I can almost flat-out guarantee that when The Looking Glass Wars is adapted every Alice film that has gone before it will pale in comparison.

I'm also looking forward to Phantasmagoria, Marilyn Manson's movie on Lewis Carroll, more than a movie on Alice, and this coming from a huge (read: relentlessly obsessive) Alice in Wonderland fan. It's just much more intriguing.

Mia Wasikowska is definitely a fine choice for Alice. Anne Hathaway as the White Queen, though? Maybe. I can't see it.

Did anyone see the foreign movie Alice made in the 80's-early 90's? It was like David Lynch meets Alice In Wonderland, I really liked it.

The Czech film? Didn't see it. I did watch a Russian animated Alice in Wonderland though.

That version will make you trip balls.

Also, there is talk that Burton and Depp will do Pirates 4...

Yeah, Depp signed up for it. Such a love affair those two have.

Personally, I see nothing wrong with Depp/Burton combo. Depp is an awesome actor, and he can play roles like Robin William can make noises. Very.. Good.. leh..

:D

Also, another Alice in Wonderland remake with the dark theme should actually work a lot better this time, and I was watching the other remake of AiW where they had humans do everything and Whoopie Goldberg was the Cheshire Cat, and I can't recall who did the Worm, but I always had the best person in mind for that...

I just wish I could remember who it was.. :p

I'm not happy about his choice for Alice but I hope it will be good.

Yes, Czech version of Alice (Neco z Alenky) is fantastic. I was 7 year old when I saw that movie and I was really scared.

This could be good I do like "most" burton films and really like Johnny Depp :)

Oh boy, I love movies that are over the top in crazy, and overly dark! WOOoooOoo

One thing I loved about american mcgees alice, is that alice herself ends up being the most twisted thing in it, it would be great if this did somthing similar.

Not sure about this. Depp and Burton are usually win, but have had some lousy movies in the past. Like Corpse Bride, which sucked out of control.

I'm not sure about the casting of Alice, but it's a **** of a lot better than this talentless whore.

It's funny, because Sarah Michelle Gellar was originally cast as Alice in the upcoming film version of American McGee's Alice.

After googling a little bit I found out that this movie has nothing to do with the film adaptation of Mcgee's Alice. I'm not sure that movie will ever be made.

She's not talentless at all. :|

I could've seen her as a decent Alice gone mad.

I'm still waiting for that adaptation of American McGee's Alice...
As long as the Chesire Cat is still an emaciated and skeletal bitchfaced badass looking freak and Alice is still a hot blade wielding mental patient, I'm happy.

Suck my dick I loved Corpse Bride :(

Looking forward to this.

Heh looks like they are/were filming in Charlestown in Cornwall.
