It's got to be shit really. The sequals for each film independantly were shit, so a mutant hybrid it also going to be shit.

This guy both directed and wrote Aliens Vs Predator. 'nuff said. If I were you, I wouldn't get my hopes up at all.

It doesn't mean he was bad before lord of the rings. Besides, Peter Jackson was an LOTR fanatic. Apparently, Paul Anderson was also a Resident Evil fanatic. Look how that ended up. Bad cast, bad writing, bad action, bad sets...it was just a mess. I wouldn't be suprised if this goes the same route.
