All players in servers appear as spectators

Whenever I join an online server in Counter Strike Source or Day of Defeat Source, every player on the server is a spectator except for me, and they are not in the game world. This happens on all servers, mainstream or not.

I haven't been able to find anything on this, and my Steam ticket is yet to be answered. Any and all help is much appreciated.

Are you browsing the servers from your desktop in the 'Find servers' window? In that window there are several tabs along the top, it could be that you are on the 'spectator' tab not the 'Internet' tab, which is the first one, before 'favourites'. That is possibly your problem, as there are nearly 100,000 people always playing Valve games

I am using Find Servers actually in the games, not from the desktop, and I'm joining them from the Internet tab. I understand how many people play these games, and I know that these people I am seeing as spectators are actually moving around, shooting and winning rounds while I am in their server. For some reason I seem to be seperated from them, although I can move around and shoot, I see no one else in the game world.
