All source/HL2 related games are running at a fast rate..WTF O.o????

Yesterday I installed costline to atmosphere then I walking, running & shooting very fast at an unbelieveable rate.


The Pulse gun only took 3 seconds to empty its clip, the MP7 was 5 seconds, the crowbar was swinging abnormally fast, tyhe .357 magnum revolver was behaving very odd....It was shooting like 9mm semi automatic handguns..its like there was absolutly no recoil WTF!!!!!!


I was running like as if Gordon had drunken too much coffee or caffene. He was high on adrenaline. People were speaking like they're were spanish hehe.
It was too fast pased D:

It would be preferred if you could type with a little more clarity for easy reading, a little goes a long way.

With regard to help, have you tried validating your game files. (go to my games list, right click game, go to properties, click 'validate integrity of game cache' and let steam do it's work).

Also, what are your specs?

I've always had an AMD Athlon 64 +3200 2.0GHZ. I've been playing HL2 on ever since April, 13, 2006.


Also I've never got a chance to take your guys advice because of School.


UPDATE: Its still going way too fast...I tried everything, Verify the integrity of Game cache, Defragment cache files, fps_max 300 into the console, I checked my Nvidia setting, checked if v-sync was enabled in HL2...still nothing, nada.


There's only two things left to do IMO...Either completly re-install HL2, or reformat my pc.


Although just when I first put the mod coastline to atmosphere on my computer..thats when source started freaking out.

Well, every single Source game & mod is f**ked up...Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode One, Fakefactory, Smod, Minerva, Day Hard, MOP, Coastline to atmosphere...etc.



I don't know what to do, Only things I can think of is Reformat or Re-install.



But when I un-install Hl2, & Steam there's still stuff in the steam folder like EP1..now how do I uninstall that if its not located in Add/remove prgrams in the start menu.

The stuff that's left is probably just saved games, your configurations and screenshots. If you want to start completely from scratch you can just delete the steam folder (if windows complains ignore it since you will be installing steam to the same place again), otherwise you can just install steam as per normal.
It sounds like you have already uninstalled steam but if you haven't you could always contact valve for help.

Dude, did you know there is a console command that controls the speed of the game? So befor you uninstall everything why don't you try that? However I forgot what the command was I'll be back with it in a bit.:cheese:

Edit: Ah here it is: host_timescale , default value is 1 anything above will make the game go faster.

Well, During the School week im not alowed on the computer D:, so its hard to try out the things you guys suggested...unless I sneak on the computer.
But now that its the weekend I can test them out .
