I went to Target today. They had the spring arcade bundle for $130 and a $50 target gift card. :E This is the first time I've owned every current gen system simultaneously. Once my xbox live card arrives, I'd like to grab some of the better live games. I'm having a hell of a time finding a good list, so I'd like some recommendations.

So you paid $80 for it.. or you can't use the card on it, I get it. But still it works out to $80, right?

Shit, I might have to get one, that's pretty cheap to have access to all the 360 library.

I assume you're talking about the arcade games? Some of my favorites:

If you act quick they have some of these games on sale because of E3. Most are 50% off.

Shadow Complex (haven't tried it)
Carcassonne (love it)
Braid (meh)
Perfect Dark (used to play it back in the day, no need to play it again)
A Kingdom For Keflings (Avatar game??)
Castle Crashers (****ing awesome!!)
Puzzle Fighter HD (fun)
Worms 2: Armageddon (just bought it! laughed my ass off)

also my list of must have arcade games:
Uno
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Beat Hazard--you should have some of your favorite music on the xbox before play
Cloning Clide
Marvel Vs Capcom 2
etc

the arcade games alone is worth it on the xbox, the ps3 fails in comparison

It came to $136 after tax, with the gift card as a bonus for buying it. So yeah, it works out to $80 considering I'll certainly use the GC.

Also, thanks for all the game suggestions so far. Looks like I have a lot of catching up to do.

Kinda off-topic, but does anyone know if 360 arcade games, (like the ones originally only available on the marketplace) ever get released on disc? I saw this kick-ass marketplace arcade game a while back on G4 that looked and played similar to Super Metroid. (can't remember the name anymore) I'd love to get my hands on that.

they only put a fraction of them on disk. and i think they pretty much stopped doing so. there are a few volumes floating around, but i'd buy them used if i were you

xbox has no worthwhile exclusives :[

except ace combat 6 and dead rising
get those

Because I have a brand new PC, I'm only interested in Limbo and Forza Motorsport 3, but I haven't really looked at all the games on offer. Most of the games I'm interested in, I've been planning to pick up for the PC.

Hells yeah I better pick up a copy of dead rising for my 360

after e3 xbox has no games

nah but srsly as for live games:

shadow complex
splosion man
rez hd
symphon of the night HD

are ones that come off the top of my head. Some other neat looking ones upcoming include:

Limbo
Shank
Scott Pilgrim vs the world (timed psn exclusive tho)
Sonic 4
Blacklight Tangodown
Necromachina

Oh yeah, Shank. I keep forgetting the damn name of that one. It looks like pretty good fun. (coming to PC as well)

Bionic Commando remake is another one I want. But that's for steam too. :)

So I took a look at Target and they've got the 360 Arcade with 2 games for $150, and you get a $30 gift card. The games are Banjo Kazooie 2 and Viva La Pinata. It says it has a 256 MB HDD, but I think that's just a mistake... that's a memory card, right? Is that enough to do anything? Are those games are any good?

Eh, I think I'm just going to get a few PC games instead, and when it comes out, I'll get a Nintendo 3DS. I probably won't get it at launch, but that depends on the launch titles.

That was the bundle I got. The $130 price was to compensate for a mistake in their ad. Even though it's listed at $150, it should ring up at $130. Not sure why they only give you a $30 gift card though, mine was $50.

They had another "360 arcade" that was just the console for the same price...$150 + $30 gift card... which I found a little strange that it was sold out...

... probably just new arrival, but I found it amusing to think that people absolutely did not want the 2 games.

BTW this was online.

They can't get rid of those 360's fast enough huh?

You wanna know why I bought a 360?

Two reasons:
1. GTA Episodes From Liberty City was EXCLUSIVE to it & it seemed impossible that it would come to PS3.
2. VALVe hates PS3 & my PC sucks, so naturally Xbox was the only way to go for Portal 2 & (if it ever comes out) Half-Life 2: Episode Three. But recent events have proved that hypothesis flawed.

I should have trusted my first instinct.

But enough about me, I recommend you get Worms 2: Armageddon.

You might like Braid. People seem to have one of two reactions to it: a) OH SHIT BEST GAME EVER MY BRAIN IS EXPLODING, or b) what a stupid piece of pretentious crap I would like to defecate in Jonathan Blow's eyes now.

Pretty sure it's in arcade hits, but try to demo the test your mileage. :p

or C) my reaction

eh its fun but not "OH SHIT BEST GAME EVER MY BRAIN IS EXPLODING" :p

NOW flower THAT is OH SHIT BEST GAME EVER MY BRAIN IS EXPLODING

I use my Xbox 360 for like the last month simply for Netflix and watching Avatar the Last Airbender which is a funny and cool show that I missed. on my PS3 I'm renting God of War 3 but otherwise I'm a PC gamer in the summertime and of course going out almost every day I'm not at work.

I did buy Shadow Complex, Worms 2, and Capcom Vs Marvel 2 recently for cheap. I really wanted these games and I'll slowly chip away at them

When the episodes for GTA were announced, they specifically said it was a timed exclusive, so everyone knew it was coming to PS3 from day one (when was another question I believe).

My 360 arcade list is as follows (maybe you'll see something you like):

-Doom
-DoomII
-Call of Duty
-N+
-Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 (only available to people who bought it before it was taken down)
-Geometry Wars Evolved 2
-Battlefield 1943
-Golden Axe
-Portal: Still Alive
-Marvel Vs. Capcom 2
-Trials HD
-Banjo Kazooie
-Gunstar Heroes
-Uno
-Galaga
-Boom Boom Rocket
-Aegis Wing (this game is free to download, it's sorta like super r-type, but not as hardcore)
-Dash of Destruction (another free game)
-Luxor 2
-PacMan Collectors Edition
-Feeding Frenzy
-Golden Axe
-Fable 2 Pub Games (you can use this to win money for your fable 2 profile, but it's way harder than it sounds)

Edit: I rarely even play my xbox anymore. Thinking about selling my xbox/account. The account would come with all those games plus lots of DLC for retail games.

They never said it was timed. Everyone wouldn't have been in such a hissy fit when it wasn't exclusive if it was announced. It was rumoured (and ultimately true) but it was never officially a timed exclusive.

I heard they had a sandbox stealth 3'rd/1'st person shooter role playing RPG outerspace bulging muscle male protagonist hack and slash effeminate sword wielding big breasted video game interactive dvd9 dual-layer proprietary xbox360 game disk out for that system, can this be true?

Yeah.
