bink videos = awesome, awesome hype and excitement, feel like i'm watching real life.

but one worry comes to my mind. i went into HL1 with literally no idea what the game was all about. and that was without a doubt my best gaming experience ever. Most of my favorite books are ones that I know little about (sometimes I don't read the back). So I worry that all these insanely awesome BINK videos are going to ruin some of the suprises in store in HL2. the first time i watched trap town, i was like "holy shit! look at the radiator, look at that dumpster, holy crap WOW!" however, as i keep on watching them, that initial reaction is gone. of course, i am still blown away by how cool it is, and it will probably be even better playing it.

my whole point is i hope i haven't ruined half the suprises. if you watch dr. kleiners lab video,

teh part where the scanners attack and the strider blows a hole in the wall is awesome,

but now in the game i'll know what to expect when that part comes....

However, knowing VALVe, my guess is that all those BINK vids don't even show a quarter of all the cool stuff and suprises in HL2. also, do any of you think that there will be other weapons besides all the ones that we know about. from what i have heard, going into HL1 mention there was never any mention of the gauss gun or gluon gun...so i'm thinkin we might have some suprises in store..?

wow i was just at the point of unhypness that i didnt even care if i actually played the game in my lifetime. now i watched the bink's and im more hyped than ever. too bad i probably have to wait for christmas to get the game and my surround sound headphones to totally enjoy it. i dont wanna be hearing it with two little black speakers.

I actually hope they have changed parts like that since the vids were made (maybe not that part, but minor other things u see in the binks).
I mean the early videos were taken for E3 '03...

I think they should change any thing really, y'know just enough to have us surprised about what we thought would happen but didn't...if that makes sense.

Taking pushit's example, maybe they took out that part.

OLD: BANG!, wall explodes to reveal Strider.

NEW: Alyx - "What are you staring at that wall for Gordon?"


In my opinion, it would be cool if they did something like that.
But, then again i've probably spoiled it if they did .
