At the time when the game began its development cycle many people from Eden Games were hooked on the gripping, intense storytelling of TV shows like Lost, Prison Break and 24. They would all watch them the night before and then get together the next day and talk about them around the coffee machines. They soon realized that this is the exact same effect that they wanted their new title Alone in the Dark to have. They began to analyze those shows and think about what makes them so great. What they determined is that the common thread amongst all these shows is that each episode follows a similar formula. There is character development, storyline, plot twists, and each shows seems to end on a cliff hanger which leaves you on the edge of your seat and always keeps you coming back for more and tuning in for the next episode.

I remember a title Alone In The Dark on Sega Dreamcast, this looks similiar too it, but the original was never mentioned, can anyone confirm if this is a re-make?

Its a remake in the sense that they're rebooting the series. And if its a remake of anything its of this:

Man, when those games first came out my brother and I were ALL OVER them. Incredible tales told with an incredible new dimension in interactive storytelling. The PS3 version of the next one is supposed to come out in the Fall and I cannot wait (which means I may just get the 360 version if it is at all good).

I hope it is a re, RE-make of the one that was on Dreamcast, which was a direct port from the one that was on the PSone.

I can't remember the name, but the Alone-in-The Dark I speak of was part two. The main character's name was "Edward Carnby" I think and the game was focused around some Indian ritual and alternate dimension on some island mansion off the shores of Boston.

Is this the one that's gonna be re-made?! God I hope so. That would be awesome.
