So I have this problem with spots. White, 1 pixel large spots all over the screen, sometimes it's really many so it's hard to play the games. I've had this problem in Doom 3, how do I get rid of them?

i assume they're not just dead pixels on your monitor if it's LCD then, right?

They are usually caused by overheating your graphics chip or memory.
If you are overclocking ,try taking it down a few notches.
Otherwise it could be a symptom of damage to the graphic card.

edit: d3 is very sensitive to overclocked graphics

I used to have this wayyyyy back when I installed Halflife... I switched the renderer to OpenGL and they were gone.

Doubt that has any relation to your problem, and you can't switch renderers in Doom3, so from this, I have to guess it's a problem with directx... Make sure you have 9.0c, and the latest drivers for your video card.

Yea, we really need a screeny of that problem before anyone can make a true suggestion.

Yeah, those are called "artifacts" and are usually due to overheating.

Yup, they are nicknamed the "Snowflakes" and are just artifacts due to too much heat.

Before you underclock your card (or stop overclocking if thats the case) try everything you can to cool it down... Maybe put in an extra fan, and possibly crack the case if it's on a hard surface (that's if you're desperate though, because it has tons of dangers such as you are screwed if it tips over, or an animal/kid could touch things inside... so only do this if you can guarantee nothing will go on the side of it...)

But, if you've done all you can to try to cool your comp down, then you gotta underclock your graphics card (yea it sucks, sometimes you gotta go below the stock settings.. :( )

Blow all the dust out too.

If you leave it open it might help the heat a little but then you'll also need to blow the dust off twice as often.

It could also be the drivers. I used to get massive artifacts in Freedom Fighters with the stock drivers on this card, updated them and the artifacts went away.

Okay, thanks for all the help guys :)
Damn my computer must be truly ****ed if I need to get an extra fan to not overheat ^^

Well try updating drivers before doing anything hardware related

or go to extremes like I did (see sig in pic of my pc) and install loads of Zalman shit.

Ha! I have the ZM80C-HP on my 9800 pro too, god damn I nearly broke the card trying to install that thing.

Doom 3 puts an incredible amount of stress on your video card, and artifacts can even occur without any overclocking present - I had it on my stock 9800 Pro, had to underclock it slightly to keep everything clear.
