also having video and sound studder once in a while and i dont like it

every few minutes the game studders video and sound and it is very annoying and can cost me life anyone know of a fix

pc is 2600+amd athlon
1.5 gb 2700 ram

The simple answer is No, a successful stutter fix hasn't been released yet.

There are many ATI owners with the stutter too, don't give that kind of advice when it isn't true. Nvidia cards are an excellent card - each has their own good points and bad points!!

No one likes the stutter. But so far no one has managed to completely fix it with changes to hardware or operating system tweaks or game tweaks. And just about most possible things have been tried - It seems Valve are determined to fix and very aware of the problem.. so hold tight and hopefully soon HL2 will run like it ought to!
