No, it isn't a hyper realistic flight sim.
Think Triplane Turmoil with perks and achievements.

Welcome to Altitude, the best multiplayer 2-D aerial combat game on the internet. Altitude is a fierce contest of ace vs ace, battling for supremacy of the skies in a fast paced combat that is way more fun than a flight simulator. It is a game of steely nerves, hair-trigger reflexes and brilliant tactical thinking. Altitude will stretch you to the limit from the upper reaches of the stratosphere, the relics of a long forgotten lost city, to within the deepest hollows of underground caverns. It offers five unique planes to choose from and an online community that will provide you with hours of entertainment. So stretch those fingers, get your game face on, and prepare for Altitude.

Technically, the game is free... it's in open beta right now, but when the full version gets released, there'll be some limitations(mostly for unlocks) and you'll have to pay $20 for the full version.
Yes, it's a little steep for a game of this kind... but I'm considering paying it.

Post your player names so we can add eachother ingame! :D

It's pretty fun, me and a couple other friends played FFA for about 2 hours yesterday.
I like how the missile locking actually requires skill, you literally have to have your plane following the target exactly and then in that instant you unleash a volley of missiles.
Very satisfying.

Well this game is suitably awesome. Playing it through Steam now.

It's on steam? **** YES. An arcadey flight game is just... yes.

I don't believe that this is on Steam, it'd be a very wise decision for them to release it on it though.

I just added it to Steam as a non-Steam game. Sorry to get your hopes up, Sheepo.

But go play it.

meh.

I'm not too impressed the game is horribly unbalanced with the lvl progression.

the planes aren't really a case of different play styles but they just get more powerful as you progress...well at least the bomber out-performs the loopy in every way possibly.

This looks pretty cool.

Does anybody remember that space plane 2d game, where it was like top down view, with lots of players at once... power ups and shit, stealth and stuff.

I've been trying to remember the name of that game, but haven't figured it out.

EDIT; I found it!

SubSpace. That game was ****ing AWESOME.

Like seriously, it was the best game ever. I played it forever. Tons of people played it, as it was MMORPG like.

I bet tons of people still play it. If they do still play it, I might think about picking it up again.

EDIT: HOOLLY SHIT. People still play this game! I'm so totally going to start it up again and rule ****ing space.

In fact, I'm going to make a new thread on it.
