Alyx, Adrian or Barney? Make a choice!

Who would u like to see as the playable character in a future HL2 expansion pack?

Just something i am curious to know from the pple of HL2.net so i am making a poll with a few options.

Would u rather want Valve to make an expansion to HL2 as Alyx Vance as the playable character? or Adrian Shepherd? perhaps some of u like Barney Calhoun return as a main character?

Personally i'd like to see Adrian return as a playable character...now perhaps this may not be possible if he becomes an important part of HL2 (theres no evidence to suggest this.. maybe this is one of the surprises Valve has hinted at?) or if he is involved in HL3? even so, i'd like to see him return so my vote goes to Adrian Shepherd :thumbs:

i hope Valve employees see this and hopefully give the fans what they want.. anyway wait for the poll to appear.. and please do post reasons for ur choice.
 
I'd say adrian, because i have no idea what happened to him
 
I wanna play HL2 to see what Alyx is like first... all we have so far is what she looks like :/
 
I'd rather play as someone new myself. Like a civilian or a combine soldier.
 
I would like a feminine perspective, probably Alyx.

Adrian Shepard is the main character in Opposing Force, the first official expansion pack for Half-life
 
remind me..who is barney again?? I forgot..But how do you know his name?? I never heard his name mentioned in HL1.

EDIT: OH....I see...you play barney in blue shift. But where do you see him in the game. I know you see him right at the very beginning but where else??

Adrian Shepherd is the playable character of Half Life's first expansion pack Opposing Force and my advice? go get Opposing Force and play it, its tons of fun!! :)

well there are Barney's throughout Half Life but the real one is assumed to be the first one u meet at the beginning of the game and he is the same character in Blue Shift as well.
 
Adrian, because we know nothing about him and his relation in Half Life 2.
This would be an AWESOME thing to play out and be able to witness. Maybe we could play him out like a prologue to half life 2 where he plays during the invasion as the earth falls under combine control.
 
i say alyx cause barney and adrian were both done already.
 
In any case, Whoever the expansions Protaganists end being, they better not have Gordon as a charectar in said expansions.

Giving Gordon a voice and distinct personality would ruin the mystique that I associate with his charectar. Part of what makes Gordon so cool is that you have leeway in what you think of his personality.

I think I can Think for many here when I say I think that he was the Strong, Silent type.

That's not possible. The opening sequences of HL and Blue Shift have a small crossover, remember...Gordon sees the REAL Barney on the platform at the malfunctioning door and you (as Barney) see Gordon go by in the train. So, if you want to get REALLY technical about it, the "real" Barney never actually meets Gordon post-resonance cascade.

But...then how does Barney know Gordon?!?! Doh! Employment Terminated. Attempted to create temporal paradox. :rolling:
 
I think an expanasion is going to be in the eyes of 1 of the resistance. I see it now half-life 2: the resistance
 
Personally I think because Alyx and Barney are main parts of HL2 and Adrian most likely isn't even in it, it would be more interesting to use Shepherd in something new before any other character.

The Barney Calhoun that appears in HL2 is not the specific Barney that you play as in Blue Shift, but rather he is a conglomeration of all the Barneys you meet throughout the game.
 
BAAARNEY! he is the coolest person in the half life story ^^
 
Cant really decide until Ive played with Alyx, Valve said they'd like to explore the possiblities of Dog+Alyx - so probably that.

You might be surprised how many people actually think that. Morons.
Anyway - I'd like to play as Barney (because of the intriguing shennanigans he's been up to) but also Alyx, because she seems like a very interesting new character and I'd like to find out a lot more.
As for Shepherd? I just don't know where he'd figure in the story-line, so I'm not so bothered by him.
A resistance fighter might be cool, but then it might just be a bit like Freeman but less significant.
