I just chose the direct download option. I'm downloading at 70k/sec instead of the shitty 35k/sec I was getting from BT. BT sucks.
 
hmm hafta check this out. Haven't seen too much on farcry. The older video i saw wasn't anything near what hl2 is. But that was old alpha i think. Anyways, thx for the news there my fellow canadian.
 
Really nice trailer. I've had this game on the radar for a while. I gather its gonna be pretty cool. I especially like the setting: a tropical island.

Wow, you guys obviously have little experience with bittorrent.

I can get my max download speeds on every download as long as seeders are present.

What you need to do is get the "Shadows Experimental Bittorrent Client" then you are able to cap your upload speeds to increase your download speed.

simple.

I'm currently getting 90-100 kb/s dl (I only have 128k DSL)
 
yeah, definitely one of the better produced trailers (among the upcoming FPSs). same as shakermaker, i really like the setting, looks super vibrant and lush too. some of the physics look a bit fishy, especially some of the body reactions to explosions, but i'm ure that'll be taken care of in the final game. so d3, hl2, fc, stalker, painkiller.. are all of these games going to be released in Q1?

the best parts of the trailer are when some guy is suiciding his jeep off of a pier and again into a helicopter.. hearing some people talking from about a mile away through your sniper rifle (maybe you have a parabolic mic?), blowing their shit up, and then hearing them yell "incoming!".. :LOL: .. nice timing on the grenade drop from the hang-glider, btw :)

oh and wtf was that creature at the end? looked like something they stole from carmack :)

EDIT: oh and the guy yelling "watch out!" before jumping in front of the oncoming barrel.. classic. :p
 
Yes, yes. DLed this earlier tonight along with the Firestarter demo.

Looks SOO cool, want it even more now, even more than HL2. BTW, I was getting 300kb/sec off that Torrent, it's like nw909 said, you need a good client (and I too use Shad0w's client).
 
Ok, watched the trailer, and I'm more excited than ever for farcry.

these new games (doom3 hl2 stalker and the bf42 killer farcry) will keepme entertained for quite some time when they come out.

ok well iv just seen the new trailer, its great, i will buy it. however im sure everyone noticed that the explosion effects and some of the partical effects arnt as impressive as say hl2, but nonetheless still good. im very excited about the multiplayer, i hope that theres good netcode, nothing would suck more than a horrible mp experience.

all in all looks great.
 
Ok, the trailer has won me over.

By far the BEST trailer for a game I've ever seen since FFVIII's intro teaser!

Looks sextacular, awesome action setpieces.

If you don't have codecs, download the latest K-Lite codek pack from here.
 
it's encoded with the dx50 (divx 5.0) codec. i dunno if that'll help you find a codec to play it, but you may want to install the nimo codec pack, since it comes with pretty much every important codec out there. myself, i had problems with nimo and some other software on my pc, so i don't use it anymore, but you might try it out :)
 
Downloading it now. It'll take a while..but I'm looking forward to it.
FarCry has been on my wanted list for a while now.

BTW...can you link me to where you got that other bittorrent thing? I googled it and found no d/l links.
 
That trailer was awesome, I love those water effects!! And the ploy bump mapping is superb!
 
Wow... just watched it...and it's looking better than ever.

I'm glad all those vehicles are in. The jeep, the boat, the hanglider..all of it. It looks like it'll be really really fun.
 
Now this is something I'll definitely pick up when it's out. I love the in-door and outdoor environments. Nice jungle sounds and the sniper zoom. The explosions are not that great but vehicles and hangglider make up for it. Yup, gonna be a bestseller
