Sure enough, with the Beta being released there are plently of spoiler screenshots being posted on the forums now. Steer clear of that place unless you want the game ruined for yourself.

I checked out some screens, doesn't spoil much really. nothing we haven't seen before in another incarnation. I'm steering clear of anything else that caan spoil though.

Yeah OK so far it wasn't terrible. I mean I did see a few new weapons and monsters, but it's only a matter of time before it gets really bad.

Well valve is screwed now.I saw the pictures but I didn't want to believe it at first.But I don't know.Valve has pretty much dug a whole it can't get out of by not releasing hl2 on time.

yeah, I didn't look at any new monsters, so I'm clear for now. guess I better not look at any more screens eh? and is it just me or is the texturing work not as amazing as I thought it wood be? prolly cause its a beta, but yeah.

Jesus Christ... so much for that. Now what? Delaying game any longer? I don't see any point in that, people will just download that beta (there is some info that more things will be released later this week). God, how did it turned out so ****ed up, how. Everything was going smooth until September... It seems Valve is unlucky, from problems with Powerplay, TF2, to Steam release and now Half-life 2. You know, I won't be surprised if their next game will be for consoles. These idiots hackers + bunch of kids think they showed Valve for delaying a game. Yeah, let's us guess whom it will hurt in the long run. I am myself planning on buying console, because at least with that you don’t need to deal with bunch of bullshit that we have now.

I cant agree more with you guys. Thi has me soo pissed off. I officially declaired my goodbye in the general discussion forums. They have gone to hell, and I'm never going back to them sadly. I'll just hang out around everywhere eles on these forums and hope people dont start posting pics in the art section... then I'll be REALLY pissed.

I think it would best for both us and valve if they released the single player version asap and re-wrote the mp version and then released it later.

It would
1. help boost sells for them instead of waiting (i know many people who have said they would love to buy the sp game now, but are trying to d/l it now since it's been delayed for months)
2. Make us, the ones who don't want people to spoil it, get to play it in all of it's glory.


I really don't see why they shouldn't release the sp version now.

I would have to agree. After seeing all the damage that the beta did, it's the best thing they could do. Or at the very least not delay it again till April 2004.

Psh, Ive never even downloaded a game before it was released, and never plan to do so either. i never even got the D3 Alpha. I just really wish all this would stop. This forum seems like the last area free from 12 yr old nubs and spoilers. Guess I'll get comfy here. Maybe we can sneak an occasional thing about Hl2 Disscussion in here? Im sure the mods would understand, right? Its just too frightening in the general forums right now... I would hate to be a mod in there...

See thats why I hang out here.I wuv you mrBadger.Anyways I don't really care about the Half-Life 2 forums section anymore.Genreal discussion has pretty much gone to hell and no moderator or admin can help it.Only forums I care about now is General Forums, well because most of my friends are hanging out here more and It's not as "noobinfested".Also they have good moderators watching over them.If you think it's bad now wait untill hl2 comes out.

Well, obviously I didn't download the Beta, but I though I'd entertain myself to some of those Beta screenshots that are now all over every HL2 sites.

Basically it looks just as awesome as I expected .. I can't wait till the final version.
