As long as they don't pull the same thing as with Intel, that would really hurt AMD.
I didnt think AMD needed the extra bandwidth as they do well enough now with basic dual channel PC3200. However the XDR they use in PS3 is pretty stinkin' fast!
My concern is with the next memory they adopt. DDR2 was a disaster of sorts but I can DDR3 being the same. They would be behind Intel if they adopt DDR2 now (as Intel is suppost to be moving to DDR3).
I think XDR would be a good choice. It doesnt have the bad name DDR2 does and it would be a step ahead of Intel. Plus it is already ready to be manufactured and could be cheaper because of Sony using it.
