AMD or INTEL

Someone please tell me why some people choose amd over intel. I know amd has a more efficient chip but its still not as fast as a pentium. Most gaming rigs use amd. WHY WHY WHY i just dont get it. Wouldnt you go with the faster chip.

Let's put it this way:

We have two grocery baggers: bagger A and bagger (urm) I.

Bagger I has a flashy badge and won the 'best bagger of 2002' award, and can bag 3 bags per second.

Bagger A is a quieter chap, and can only bag 2 bags per second but each bag he bags is twice as full.

So the real question is: who the hell put the damn watermelon on top of the friggin eggs?
