AMD64 and Hammer for HL2

I noticed there has been talk of multiple processor support in HL2 hammer. Has there been any word as to if the AMD64 architecture will be utilized as well? Just think how much faster that map would compile with that huge bus.:cool:
 
I would be interested too, as I will be building a computer soon (Old 1.1 ghz amd athlon computer(faster than my friends 2.0 ghz p4)) is dying, mainboard mainly, ill be reusing what I can, but yeah going to get new box, mainboard, the 64, atu radeon 9800 etc etc :)
 
You need a 64-bit OS for that, right now the only OS that support 64bit are linux and *bsd. You have to wait for longhorn/whatever for a 64bit windows.
 
that it is. About the 64-bit operating system comment....all of the athlon64 "extended" normal 32 bit registers can be used if the program is written with them in mind. It's the 64-bit that's the problem.

Guess there's no news on this - so here's to hoping for it.:cheers:
