America: Freedom To Fascism

I'm surprised you haven't made a thread about this yet :p

But yeah, it looks interesting. Have to rent it sometime.

Oh, I hope that comes to a theatre near me! (no sarcasm intended). Yeah, it looks quite interesting. Totalitarianism interests me greatly (1984 is my favorite book, and I'm trying to write a lego movie based around stuff like this). I can't wait to see the boycotts and news specials for this movie. "OMFG!1 It's Anti-American!1 They're Terrorists!!!1!"

Shut down the Federal Reserve system
Have Congress and the IRS, in a public forum, reveal the law that requires Americans to pay a direct, unapportioned tax on their labor.
Make computerized voting illegal in all 50 states
Stop Globalization because it is the path to a one world government
Seems a bit creepy

Well, bliink sometime ago was talking about this book that said democracy's only last about 200-300 years and it said before it fails it reachs Totalitarianism or something. She'd have to clarify.

I suspect it varies, but the Roman Republic went to Roman Empire in a short time. Julius Caesar became "dictator for life" (whereas their constitution said a leader was only supposed to rule for half a year) in a string of events trying to establish national security.

Shouldn't this be in the movies forum? Just a thought.

This looks okay. The trailer had me feel that at times the propaganda was going to be too much, but it would be an interesting watch no doubt. And not all that far-fetched! :naughty:

A good portion of the movie seems to be centered around the invalidity of income tax. All the arguments against income tax have been refuted a countless number a times by courts at all levels

I think this movie is a little far fetched, but it makes you think. Still, I really don't see the point of thinking "omg we have an income tax, we're facists!" I really thinka flat income tax is an extremely important source of revenue for the government.

Other than that it seems pretty interesting.

what a retarded video. so theres no law that we have to pay taxes... do we just not pay them? if we dont, how will we finance our government?

then it shows some police officers tazing people in their cars... does the video explain WHY? no... it just shows footage of officers doing their job. those people were probably in trouble for doing something uhhh maybe illegal?

theres nothing wrong with a national ID card OR sticking chips in us. we stick chips in our dogs so we can find them when they get lost i dont see why we couldnt stick them in us. and a national id card is just a plain old good idea.

this movie is bogus, and looks completely stupid. no law to pay income tax... LOL. then dont pay it and see what happens.

Well doesn't the goverment get taxes from other places also? Not just income tax?

I'm pretty sure that video of the cops tazering someone was from that one where the woman gets all hysterical and wailing her arms and hitting the cops and one just tazers her down.

Then she complains.

I do have a problem with having chips implanted in us, but the ID card is alright, it should just be like a driver's lisence, except expanded to all citizens. However, as soon as the government starts requesting ID's to do everything, and discriminating people because of inconsistencies in their IDs, thats where I would have a problem.

We do get money from other taxes, but the majority of government tax money comes from the federal income tax.

Without the tax, the government would be crippled, and the debt would rise even higher, propelling the government enact numerous new taxes or cut spending in such a dramatic way that it would no longer function.

America: Freedom to Fascism.

That title right there is enough to lead alot of people, people who might even believe what has to be said, to not look at it based simply on the name and how it connotes a radically biased and unfair negative view.
