Truely a sad state of affairs. If I wished to celebrate a more religious aspect of this holiday here(which I rarely do, I just spend it with my family and have fun with them) I could, but such is not the case this year in Iraq, for the christians there, sadly enough. <frowns>

On a side note, also sad When I was driving to families house, I saw a dead dog on the side of the highway, what looked like a golden retriever. Poor puppy died this winter season, I hate it when I see stuff like that, makes me feel awful.

Wow, what the **** does a dead dog have to do with it you stupid shit?

Dude, what the **** is your problem? go away if you got nothing to contribute. Did I *SAY* it had anything to do with it? It's just a side note, off topic thing I threw in.

Dammit, that is not right. As a muslim, I have much respect for Christians who follow their faith. I honestly wish things were different over there. This just bothers me deeply. I can only wish that there will be a time when there is a real sense of justice on this earth, and actions like this are abolished for ever.

This is not like the way it used to be.........................

I hope so too ..I hope that one day we'll get rid of all borders all divisions all differences and stop seeing each other as christian, jew, muslim, black, chinese, gay, yellow, white red and blue. I hope that one day everyone will see each other as human first, designation second

No......just no.

Off the top of my head, when muslims ruled Spain, all religions were allowed to be followed and worshiped as their believiers saw fit. So long as none of their actions crossed with the Islamic beliefs, people were free to do as they wish. It was a just society, where different cultures were looked upon hapilly. If people really want to see what good muslims have done for the world, people should really try to study this era in time.

What time frame was it that the muslims ruled spain? I'm just curious, because I don't know. Isn't it true Islam wasn't a religion until around 600 AD?

Brief summary of muslim rule in Spain:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al-Andalus

The first revalation of the Qu'ran was revealed in 610 by Gabriel to Muhammad p.b.u.h in the cave of Hira. For the next 23 years he recieved more pieces of the Qu'ran until the whole book had been revealed. Muhammad p.b.u.h would recite the revalations he was given to his followers, who would memorize it almost instantly.

I honestly wish people could only learn and study the peaceful nature of Islam. Even in war, Muhammad p.b.u.h wanted muslims to act in a dignified and calm manner. Unfourtunately, people claiming to be muslims commit atrocities everyday, and kill their own kind. It is a shame, and it bothers me even moreso than the Americains invading the east.

EDIT: One last thing...people should also look up the connections between Islamic society and the Renaissance. You would be incredibly suprised about how much the muslims influenced it.
