An alien invasion has already occurred

These little red cells have the ability to mutate at an astounding rate, and where we can only see them with the aid of vast numbers, or under a high powered microscope, we will soon become aware of their true nature as they mutate and expand, forming entire armies of sentient beings bent on conquering earth.

Well if the world goes to war with Aliens, i'm happy as they'll take poor ol' Dekky first :D

Just strap me up with my MG42 and ill shoot those evil red raindrops straight out of the sky!!! :P :O

It's raining men! Tiny, red men.

What is a sonic meteor burst?

It's where Sonic the Hedgehog spins really really fast and rams into a meteor. The resulting burst is called a Sonic meteor burst.

Holy shens!

Bloody birds flying into planes jet engines again.

*Grabs shotgun, rocking chair, ammo, and beer*
Well, I'm ready, how about you?

Wait wait wait :|
All that article says is that microbes that eventually evolved into us, originated from outer space. This is a widely believed theory because it is very plausible.
What the hell is everyone freaking out about?

I'm going to be one of those bastards that hides in a tree with limited ammo, making sure to only have 1 bullet left after being swarmed, so I can shoot myself.

But all in all, that was a rather cool read...I'd like to see how it comes out.

I guess that would explain the missing link's , so where did we come from if this is correct :O

I really doubt they'd come to Wales first. It'd take them billions of years to traverse all the backroads and cattle gates needed to go through to reach me.
They'd rather just scoot down to yours drack and disect you.

Didn't read the article well?
A bunch of DNA-less bacteria fell to India a few years ago, confirmed to come from a meteor explosion. A huge finding.

It's not bollocks, because New Scientist had it as their cover story last week. Really interesting stuff, because the most likely explanation for life on Earth is some sort of microbe seeding.

It'll be interesting if it turns out that the little red specks are actually alive, and originated off-world.

WHy won't anybody listen to me!? Microbes... bacteria... mutating, monsters, GIGANTIC! INVASION!

What would be frightening is finding that the microbes (if that's what they are) were a highly-deadly pathogen from outer space. They used to sterilise stuff that re-entered our atmosphere, just in case something like that happened.

hehe, in the case of millions of Evil red E.T. raindrops, YES!!! :P

I read a Dean Koontz novel over the summer with a plot similar to this. Man custard rained from the sky and made wolves go mad.

I ****ing hate that man.

New Scientist is too expensive for me to buy every week (well it's not, but that £2.60 could be spent on beer)... I have to rely on my Physics World subscription every month. D:

Hell, I can't afford scalar waves o__o.

This is an interesting find though. Hopefully some cool research comes out of it.

I love these alien stories and everytime i read 'em i wish they were true ;D

Yeah, I'm poor :( I'm counting on that big promotion soon.
