There's an HL2 mod out there named korinbikini that changes alyx's model to an asian bikini wearing model... shall that also be taken offline? what if someone makes a nude alyx mod? (i'm sure it's been done)

It's not an end to mods. Rockstar Games blamed the 'content' on a modder, which was a lie. GTA was rated Mature (for ages 17 and older) but now is rated Adults Only (18 or older), pointless if you ask me. Attacking mods and changing a rating on a game is still no solution to bad parenting and people who are mentally unstable. If you don't want your 17 year old kid to see a virtual sex scene, don't let him buy the game. There is really no mod at fault.

I've ranted on this "destruction of the mod scene" topic lots of times... I'll try to make this short.

This whole thing is just stupid. The game is rated M for Mature so that means 17 year olds can buy it... They can see R rated movies where there is REALISTIC gore and sex (not like porn-movie sex.. but you get to see boobs and such)... If they bumped up the age to 18 I would be perfectly fine. Why? Then at that age you could buy porno mags, go to porn websites, etc etc

Unfortunately, everyone keeps pretending we are talking about an 8 year old playing the game, which does happen. Is that the fault of the child? No! It is the fault of the parent for getting the game and letting them have access!!!

Then after Rockstar realizes what happened and how much sh*t they are going to get into, they blame it on the "hackers" (which all they did was change a boolean value from "false" to "true")... From that statement, the ESRB is now saying any custom content is the responsibility of the developer. This is also bull-sh*t because this is taking away some of our rights.

WE own the product. WE bought it and know what is in the game (thanks to the rating). WE have the right to change our product.

A guy from EA had a great counter-point.... If this statement that developers are responsible for all content that happens within their game, then would the New York Times be responsible for what people write on their pages? No!!!

In fact, if the ESRB is actually going to take steps and prosecute devs who have "inappropriate mods" for the game... Then I can't wait until some modder decides to show how stupid the system is by creating nude skins for JumpStart Products and then watch as this harmless company, that is focused on education is getting sued for something as dumb as this.

I will be extremely disappointed with the ESRB if this system goes into effect...... Heads will roll!

We've got the Source engine, and damn, it's good, we've got the SDK, and we've got free range to do with it what we like, at this point, we don't even NEED a new engine to work with. So, no matter what these American censorship ******s do, we'll still have our tools for a great engine, and we'll still be able to pump out whatever the hell we want. I'm glad I live in Australia, less rabid Christian/Moral Fanatics to ruin my fun. =D

Besides, I'm 18, so anyone who wants to censor what I do will quickly recieve the finger and a tender "**** you very much, pal."
