HL2.net, I'd like to share something with you that's very near and dear to my heart: an HOUR of cartoon intros spanning the 80s and 90s. Sit back, get comfy, and relive your childhood.

The 80s:

The 90s:

I shed a tear.

It's amazing, all those allusions and lyrics I didn't get when I was five, but I knew the words anyway.

My gods... I LOVE IT ALL.

My eyes - was it really that shite when I was little?

Hey, the 90s ones were good.

Oh this brings back the memmories when i watched them. They weren't to bad then but now they get a little boring.

Lol now it's full of stuff to make anybody go retarded and it's not funny. Plus it's all CGI. Ahh those were the days. Days when I had no idea where the Middle East was and just knew them by Arabian nights of Alladin. :(

All the Warner Brother ones were substantially better than the Disney ones. :p

AND BATMAN BEYOND! Woah, that shit was whack.

Oh god the 90s...the memories...

Is there anything better than Dark Wing Duck? Honestly...there can't be. If it exists I don't want to know about it.

They're missing the Godzilla cartoon that aired on fox for a brief period in the 90s.

I know they're probably missing a lot more than that even, but I liked that one :D

edit: I still cannot express enough the awesomeness of Dark Wing Duck.

If Centurions: Power XTREME! isn't in there, I'm not watching it.

No matter the nostalgia overload.

Holy shit man. Just watched the 90s one cause that's what I grew up on. Even though I probably sound about 50 by saying this, they don't make em like they used to!

You know you're right though, they definitely don't.

Are there seriously any good cartoons at all anymore?

Maybe a re-incarnated batman/superman/ninja turtles or something...

Yeap. Cartoons today are essentially -

# Comedy, in the vein of Simpsons or Family Guy. Arguably still going strong, but also arguably getting worse by the episode.

# Abstract/random-ass comedy, like Aqua Teen or Harvey Birdman. Seem to be trying to relive 80s/90s style cartoons in a way, with their animation style, references, and being directed at an older audience. Can be good, just very hit and miss.

# Kid's shows, which just plain SUCK. Generally have bigger morals than budgets and somehow manage to have characters with less than one dimension.

# Old super-hero rehashes, complete with trendy teen appeal. Evidently all this entails is making them younger and skinnier and putting them in the future.

# Anime, which is apparently still enjoying a good deal of success in Moonland, despite being the exact same show aired over and over except with different hair colours. Not that I dislike all of it, personally I love watching a good anime. It's just a matter of wading through the other 99% to find one.

# Aaaaaaaaand movies. Oh wait, they replaced those with 3D. Oh well, atleast they're continuing the fine tradition of giving animals human characteristics and sending them on a life-altering journey of self-discovery and friendship. And continuing it... and continuing it..... and continuing it........

Some awesome stuff in the 90s clip...for sure, todays stuff is pure garbage compared to the greatness of the 90s...

I hate how they put in The Critic, but left out one of the best shows back then???

It's not...:( . That show was cheesy as hell but very fun to watch:D

Also the bad guys look like fugitives from Quake 2 LOL:LOL:

Yeah one of my favorites too

Any idea where i can download or stream the episodes of these two cartoons?

Amazing to see how furries were actually cool back then. Lol internet.

80's > 90's tbh.

I'm surprised Spider-man never made the 90's montage tho.

Spiderman's intro was never any good. Men In Black for the ultimate win.

So awesome, so cheesy yet so awesome D:

Where's all the Marvel cartoons like X-Men and Spiderman?

I think Batman is probably qualitatively the best cartoon in there, very well animated and enjoyable to watch at most ages.

They did leave out a lot of good ones. Centurions, people mentioned already. Things like Visionaries and C.O.P.S. and Silverhawks too, I think. I don't even think Thundercats was in there. No Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors. No Jem or My Little Pony. The Care Bears weren't in there, that was a travesty. Friggin' love that show to this day.

And they left out the most hard rocking intro in the 90s:

This is one of those intros that could've only existed in 90s. Today's kids' minds would be blown if they heard something this epic. Listen to that guitar solo. They've grown up listening to jingles and rap intros for cartoons; if they heard something like this I think their minds would literally explode.

But there are still some good cartoons out there today. A lot of the wackier ones made for kids they still throw a bone to adults who might be watching the show. It's great because they used to do that sort of thing when we were younger, we just didn't get it. Things like Rocko having a restaurant called the Chokey Chicken and those carpet munching cows in Cow and Chicken. I was watching Fairly Oddparents on Nick the other day and Timmy made some wish that made Cosmo grow breasts. "I thought you said plastic surgery! ...I'm keeping them."

Also some of the action shows for kids today are pretty cool. Ben 10 and Avatar. And Pokemon's still running. ;) You know you still love Pokemon, children of the 90s.

Oh, and just for you PvtRyan, I give you the GREATEST Marvel cartoon intro:

No Jem or My Little Pony. The Care Bears weren't in there, that was a travesty. Friggin' love that show to this day.
I am man enough to admit I watched these shows when I was little as well as everything else mentioned here. xD

I was weened on Transformers, GI Joe, Care Bears and My Little Pony. xDD

Oh and Robotech and Rainbow Bright (Brite?) xDDD

God, they couldnt even do it to the original Iron Man??? Pfft...

How could anyone leave out the two greatest CG cartoons ever made?

Those better be Reboot and Starship Troopers, Stiggy.

I vote HL2.net makes a compilation video! By sticking all these together, of course.

Batman: TAS, The 3 Warner Brothers Cartoons (Tiny Toons, Animaniacs and Pinky & The Brain) are ftw. So is Avatar, Darkseid.

Haha, holy crap...

If that reminded me of anything, it's cartoon's endless creativity at finding ways of putting weapons of death and destruction in the hands of their characters and NEVER KILLING ANYONE :p
