I expected some sort of comical punchline just before it said "SNAKES"

I'm PRETTY sure that's sorta half the fun. It could be seen as making fun of movies today. The movie isn't supposed to actually be serious.

well i would see it that way too, if they didn't follow it up with serious and dramatic scenes... so by the end of the preview i got the sense as if the movie was a serious thriller/action genre.

Yeah. IRL they'd just sit there in the warmest areas. Most poisonous snakes aren't very aggressive towards humans, unless they feel threatened.

Hehe... I coul understand that from the burmese python, which WOULD eat a person if it had to... but all the other snakes would sooner starve than try to deal with a person they'd have no chance of eating.
