Gametrailers started putting their GoTY videos online. Right now they have the best Original IP, Strategy and Casual Games up, but more will probably be published later this week.

I personally really like the Advent Calender format RockPaperShotgun is doing. They basically ramble about a different game every day. No rehashed reviews here.

IGN is very uninspired this year. Worst presentation of the bunch. I can't really be arsed to check out who won and who didn't.

Gamespot is running on routine as well. They do a countdown that started today with a review of the year and the 'special achievements' like best new character, most memorable moment, etc.

Eurogamer doesn't seem to be doing anything list-wise. Yet at least. Kotaku announced they're gonna review the different themes and trends of the year. Should be interesting. Destructoid has declared their GoTY. Not a big surprise there.

EG will have theirs up around New Year I think and will basically be the same. The journos discussing each game among themselves like RPS.

The Dubious Honors preview for Gamespot's GOTY awards looks hilarious (i.e. Most likely to fail a performance enhancing drug test - Batman).

Also I love how Modern Warfare 2 has yet to win an award through Gamespot. That must royally piss off their fanbase, since it only consists of Halo and COD fans.

Good on Gamespot, MW2 doesn't deserve much. Sure its fun with friends, but all it is is COD 4 with more guns and different maps. Actually, that's all COD games ever seem to be.

There are MANY more games that are different and, imo, better then Call of Duty.

Yeah. They have odd freebies in there as well, like game codes and this weekend they had one for some hardback copies of Jims Book. Essentially the subs pay for the hosting and allowed them to get someone in to sort out the website & forum, which lets face it was a god-damn mess originally. They might all be avid gamers, but apparently not particularly tech savvy as a whole surprisingly.
