Oh my God, in the beginning the customer sounds like a little 4 year old who didn't get candy at the grocery store.

Anyways, the conclusion is awesome. Though I will admit, I ****ing hate help lines, but then again, I've never called a help line of a company for such a dumb question.

Anyway, I had to go through a few weeks of phone support when I first started working, so i can definately relate to this. Thank God we don't have an annoying automated system; else everyone I spoke to would of been pre-irritated.

I remember calling Dell once, their automated system is truly annoying. If I hadn't been calling form work (therefore being paid while I waited), I would've wanted to rip someone's head off and shit down their neck. Yes.

This guy obviously knows the golden rule of talking to customer help people: get belligerently drunk beforehand. I personally don't mind being nice to customer help folks. They obviously don't care about your email address etc. it's just their job to find out that stuff. Telemarketers and the kind of people who will continue to push their product/service when you've made it clear that you aren't interested tho... I don't really mind getting nasty with them. To a point I understand they are just doing their job as well, but you can pretty much tell who is on commission and it is borderline harassment in my book.
