i agree with adam... www.3d-palace.com is one of the better places for free vtms... i have been learning some animation from them or you can go to cgtalk.com and ask them...
For animation, the google isn't going to cut it. To understand the whole concept, you need to understand what they was doing in the 1920's. You would want to buy "The Animators Survival Kit" for starters. Then you should really start studying people you see everywhere during a day, nitice facial movements etc. etc... The web has to little to offer when it comes to animating. You want the books. For the technical stuff, sure, then some of the 3d-places can help you out.
Books are probably the best resource if you can get them, next up is www.3d-palace.com and the like.
