i'm bored, i need an anime to entertain me, preferably a movie, preferably an action anime movie, mecha's are fine, medieval ones are great, what do you guys suggest?

Go outsite and play in sun.

Medieval Anime:
Berserk (24 episodes)

Sci-fi: RahXephon (24 episodes)

Both are out on DVD.

P.S. Lain is very boring if you are an action fan.

akira was the only anime that I've seen that didnt bore me to tears

is it like ghost in the shell? i didn't like that one very much, or is it completely different? lain that is

Lain!

Not a movie... but the best series ever made. I hope thats enough for you.

Nope, Lain is one of its kind. Cant really write what its about... you should see it. A really good mind****er.

can we keep the discussion to movies, i don't have time for whole movies, i'm already stuffed with series as it is, naruto, subed g-seed, and trying to finish old spiral episodes, movies please

well, is it short, like six episodes short?

As I said, by anime titles listed you are an action fan, I give you 100%, you will be bored by Lain by the second episode, there is not action whatsoever.

You said you wanted something medieval, and Berserk, while series, are the best medieval anime out there.

What sun? As I write it is absolutely hammering it outside.

Anyway, I suggest Bible Black :naughty:

well, i'm a big fan of stuff like flcl and eva, like half action half dialogue/messages, and it sounds original and peculiar so i want to check it out

oh and i've been searching for it on the internet, and i've come accross a lot of "serial experiments lain" is that the same thing or something totally different?

The real name is Serial Experiments Lain.

Also, like Mr.Reak said. Theres no action what so ever in Lain... only talk (not much talk either... mostly metaphorical)

metaphorical.....like flcl!?!?!

No, forget about FLCL, it's just wierd ass comedy, which makes fun of all anime cliches. Lain is much deeper, and you will need to watch it at least 3-4 times to get it right.

Well, you can't really go wrong with Ninja Scroll, the movie or series!

if you like mecha, watch the greatest mecha series of all time,

Kido Senshi Gundamu

if you want messages, read a book

also worth mentioning:
Hellsing

Cowboy Bebop and Hellsing are great series.. as for movies Vampire Hunter D is good, and so is uhhhhm Cowboy Bebop- Knockin' on Heavens door is a good movie also!

Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on Heaven's Door is always a great watch. Good length movie, plenty of action and great animation! What more could you want? It's awesome just like the series.

Konaka, the writer behind Lain, also wrote Hellsing if i remember correctly (and bubble gum crisis.. and even a hentai series called Futari Echhi!) :)

I've seen so many animes I can't remember em all. All the movies I've seen are based off of series and I'm guessing he hasn't seen that many. Majestic loves his hentai.

Hellsing, Cowboy Bebop and Trigun are among the more impressive anime series I've witnessed.

There are many many other great ones out there, you probably just haven't seen em.

Yeah, I have a whole 75GB HDD full of stuff my mate gave me. I've yet to really look through it yet, but once my exams are done I will be. :) I really pray for his sanity though; the guy has 2 terabytes of the stuff. Literally. With another terabyte waiting to be filled.

yea i'm definately gonna go watch lain now, i've watched practically all of the suggestions outsided lain about a year ago, i mean ninja scroll, bebop? come on, that's a practicall neccesity, and yes i have also seen hellsing, and even the bebop movie (great movie), which pretty much leaves me to lain, i need something differen't, i loved flcl which was wildly orignal to me, now i guess lain will be the ticket to get me into some wise anime

I recommend Spriggan. good action sequences in that one.

Not enough people know that there are only a dozen or so Anime shows/movies that are actually worth watching.

People watch some realy crap. This thread is no acception.

And this is the time where you tip us about an awesome movie/series.

Cowboy Bebop movie is one of my favourite pieces of animation besides Akira. Soundtrack is the best in any anime I've seen :)

Seen the Kenshin OAV's? Or is it OVA... I always get that muddled. Anyway Truth/Betrayal are deep and bloody, and Remembrance is just pure awesomeness in it's most condensed form. Can't wait for Viz to hurry up and release the damn manga >_<

Lain
Akira
Roujin Z
Jin Rou
My Friend Totoro
Spirited Away
Blood: The Last Vampire
Metropolis (probably my favorite!)
