Haha, I don't want to hurt the feelings of all of you anime fans, but why the heck when I flip the channel and anything that is on that is anime, do the guys look like WOMEN!? I heard that in japan some male kids dress like girls and it is okay for everybody, but I didn't really know that took the same turn here in their animation.

It looks freaky to me, the things that look like women are their hair, their faces, and sometimes their voices and clothing.

Not to be personal, but... you guys actually LIKE it like this? And what is your whole opinion on that thing in japan with guys dressing like women and it being socially correct?

meh.
watch the good ones:
series:
Berserk
Trigun
FLCL
Hellsing
Cowboy bebop

movies:
Vampire hunter D & bloodlust
Grave of the fireflies (one of the saddest movies ever imo)
Akira
Jin-roh

I love when people think the japanese made the big eyes, etc.
when they simply borrowed it from the old mickey mouse and things.

About the boys dressing like girls....
i think a lot of children go through that, even here in the states, just not openly.

Well, I can't remember where I read the article, but I think its up to the point of becoming epidemic in japan or something. I think its not just the children, but the adult males as well or something <ponders>

There was an article about it, but I can't find it anymore! Someone wanna help me finding it, or one related to it!

Oh and don't forget Initial D!!!Hey I don't care if some jap kid 1000 somethin miles away from me dresses up like a girl....I could give a damn. Now excuse me, I have to go get in touch with my feminine side.

*me starts to put on eye liner*

Heh. I've worn a girl's coat several times... I guess that must make me 'socially incorrect' . arf.

Hey thats not bad. It's just a coat. You would probally be socially incorrect if you ran around a store or something is a pink tutu.

Yep, so you'll have to think twice before you ask that Japanese girl out ;)

Why? You have a problem with someone's lifestyle and culture? Idiot.

Wow, what a jerk response. I have no problem with it, I was asking what people thought, since it ties in to the topic <eyeroll>

Well, it seemed you were suggesting that this was 'freakish' or whatever. Make your thread clear. Oh yeah...

*me points at title :P (I'm a mod)

The male anime characters who look like women are called bishounen.

And I don't really know anything else. Which is sad.

Now now badger, what kind of an example is that?

I have to say, Anime is in fact strange...but in a culture where they have invented an arcade game where you analy rape a person, its quite understandable.

Some anime is just cartoonish, some is actually quite good, and the rest is to be honest just plain wrong, especially that tentacle stuff. *shudders*

Yeah, every anime on tv is ghey im sorry to say, you have to download the good ones.

dubbed over series sux.

*me points at title (I'm a mod)

So that gives you the right to stomp on me calling me an idiot without my ability to counter in a mature manner?

No thanks... I was simply trying to start a topic and get mature responses, that is all. I was genuinely curious what people thought.

I dont think badger was being serious with that "I'm a mod" thing. If i were you i would just ignore it :)

:p to badger:)

i'm sure he is sorry for any offence caused.

Ok, look I admit that I flew off the handle OK, it's just I'm a liberal type of guy... it seemed to me you were knocking someone's culture. My mistake.

EDIT: I was actually joking with the 'I'm a mod' thing... hence the tongue smiley :)
