This bug is weird :) As you can see in the pictures, the ground textures are completely wrong. At first I thought somebody had had a grenade-spam fest but nope, as you can see, these texture glitches occur all over the map.

I was simply fooling around with my graphics settings, going from High (no FSAA/AF) to Low (still no FSAA/AF) to High again with 16X AF & 2X FSAA. Then this happened. You can be sure that I have reported it :D The game works "fine" @ 8X AF & according to net_graph, turning on/off FSAA & AF plus lowering details to Low gives me an fps boost of like 3 fps...

Specs:
1.8 Ghz (Dell crap)
9800pro 128 (might be that the card doesn't support 16X AF?)
0.5 mbit connection
1024mb rdram
120gb hdd

I fixed the glitch by turning down AF & FSAA. I think I need to upgrade. As you can see in some shots, my fps isn't very good even on ultra-low settings ;(

So, what could be the cause of this glitch? :)

i think that messing around with the setings as much as you did is enough to cause problems, though i cannot be sure of course. everytime you enable AF AA it has to make an adjustment to the way the drivers are working i think you just freaked it out. l cant imagine that would be good for any game/card.
As for the low fps well the AA AF could be the issue there as these can eat a lot of the gpu power, depends also on your resolution.

ps. how do you get the large info display to appear in cs source?

Yeah that might be true. But I usually do not play with AA & AF on at all & I still have what I would call bad fps (very used to 99 in 1.6 you see).

If you mean the fps-counter then it's net_graph 3 & net_graphpos 2.

Edit: Oh and the game stutters quite a lot between any changes to the graphics so it's not that the computer has to make adjustments instantly :)

i did the same thing before. if u save ur settings and "retry" or restart cs:s i forget which i did, works fine.

I have come to the conclusion that I might just as well play the game on maximum settings since the performance gain/loss between absolute minimum & maximum is less than 20% (according to the fps that net_graph 3 shows...)

Thanks anyway :)
