Another FPS problem :/

Im getting low fps at css (15-40) on a good computer (imo)
Celeron 2.8ghz
msi 865pe Neo2
512 ddram
His Radeon 9600xt 256ddr

What im doin wrong ?

O im playing on 800x600 everthing low.

maybe it is your ram i did have 512 before now i have 1024 and it is realy better.

I had around 50 fps, then i bought another 256 ram, and it went to around 70 fps, then new update came out and it now runs about 20 fps. WHAT A COOL UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maby you bought crappy quality shit? It happened to me once, i had a GeForce 6800, Doom3 ran at like 25 fps on medium and all options on, 800x600, no AA. Now i returned it, it runs maxed out at 40 fps: 1280x1024, 4xAA, Ultra quality (yes the 500 meg ultra), all options on.

My advise, replace your stuff.

Everything else on my computer runs fine, HL2 runs fine.

I have pretty much the same setup.. and I run CS with about 40-60 frames per second. I think its your celeron processor, I heard that they suck for games, you should really get a new one like a pentium 4 or an AMD 64.

I know how you feel...
have you tryed fps_max 600 (it may be max_fps 600) That should make your fps go up to 60 fps. if you want 80 fps then make the 600 a 800 ect...

Ummmm... That doesn't boost framerate at all. That just sets the cap at which your framerates can be.
