Another goddamm newbie question

Hello all, nice to be here. Can't get enough HL2 deathmatch at the moment, must...kill..:sniper:

I have a really newbie question that I am frankly too embarrassed to post in your other forums so am posting it here. Hope that's ok

So I've been playing private games with friends a lot and we're really itching for some new arenas but I can't work out how to add custom maps to my Source dedicated server.

Pls tell.....so I can play snipertowers :bounce:

Welcome, if you already have the map you want, you need to locate your map files and copy and paste the map file in there, usaully you have a readme file attached to the map, hopefully that works.

Hi, thanks Azner. I've added maps np to HL2DM, you just put the map files in the map folder, like you say.

But, the problem is I can't add a map to SDS so the only map options I get if I create a server to play over the net are just the standard ones, dm_runoff, dm_powerhouse et al.

How do I do that?

Ok, when you DLed the files, zip presumebly, there should be a readme attached to it, and mabye a script written for you already, try to find out where verything in the zip goes it all goes to half life deathmatch.
