Another Hurricane season is about to start in Florida. Hurricane Dennis is in Jamaica right now and is on its way to the Forida Keys. Although it does not look like its going to hit Florida directly but things can change. The only thing that i'm praying for is not another season like the last one, i don't really like picking up all of the trees and the other crap around my yard. ;(

I volunteer at red cross and we are expecting 9 ;/

Florida hates Tr0n

I reside in Florida btw, and I'm prepared for the hurricanes. Got my rollerskates and a towel, makes for one hell of a ride!

About had tornado's hit meh house today....damn whatever hurricane or tropical storm >_<

Everybody's all freakin' out about Dennis here. I don't know why. We caught ANDREW, too...that hardly did any damage at all here.

They freak out because you can go hangout in a shelter go back home and find it looking like scrap metal. Just take every precaution you never know.

What i am freakin' out about is that i might not have electricity to play BF2 or CS:S!

Well, yeah...that's fine for Florida. I'm talking about LOUISIANA. It don't really happen like that here. Too many trees.

I'm pretty safe up here in New York. Pretty darn safe.

I live in Florida too. I'm not going to get anything but its storms unless it changes paths and heads up to my place. Last year sucked, we had like 3 hurricanes and our power was out for like 3 weeks.

Yea the only hurricane that didnt hit Florida (barely) was Ivan and it went on and hit Louisiana. My power was out forever too, and that is the only thing that does NOT happen to us, which is highly doubtful.

I remember when a "tropical storm" or something came thru teh gulf and made its way inland, by the time it hit Missouri, it was just spawning lots of tornados...dear god that was spooky
*EDIT* the more I think about it, it may ahve been a dream. I have a tendancy to believe dreams I've had before. so yeah...

Hate to tell you, but I live in Florida, and Ivan left my yard in ruins, my grandmother's house accupunctured with trees, and the beach almost leveled. It may have hit Gulf Shores, AL, but the northeastern end of the eyewall smacked Florida upside the head.

Now we have Hurricane Dennis that is doing almost the exact same thing as Ivan, and people in my hometown are heading for the hills.

It's now an official Cataogry 4 Hurricane and is in Jamaica headed for Louisiana.

HEAD FOR THE HILLS STEVE_O!!

When will people learn that we just can't pump these amounts of co2 into our atmosphere and expect no consequences.

Of course, I live right next to Pensicola, right to the East of the Eye, one of the less better parts. What can you do? Stay safe everyone in Florida.

OH NO its over Jamaica and almost over Cuba on its way to Steve!!

RUN RUN RUN!

We should just detonate a nuke in teh middle of it, TAKE OUT THE EYE, YOU TAKE IT ALL OUT!

WHOS WITH ME?!?!...
*crickets*

I wish we could reason with these hurricanes ;/. Or will someone listen about global warming. I tihkt he price it taks to rebuild all those homes and damage cost could be easily diverted if they went into global warming isues; /

But then how would we take out the rest if we're dead? :P Other than that its a GREAT plan!!

You know on The Weather Channel when they project the path that Dennis is most likely to take? That line cuts my hometown in half.

I'll see you all on the other side.

I wish you the best of luck man, as long as you can save your computer from certain death and still be able to communicate with us you will be fine an the inside (thats what my Doc said anyway). So anyways good luck and i bet that we will get our fair share of them.

It wont be that bad just if you are really worried evacuate as fast as you can away and keep lokin at the project path.

while you have nice hurricanes, we'll have typhoons.

when one of my relatives was in Japan she had gotten herself lost on top of Mount. Fuji and had to stay the night there, well as her luck went a monsoon came and had to spend the night in a small shack but that is irrelivant to what you were saying so...

Well, now they're saying that Dennis is going to be the most powerful hurricane to hit the NW Florida Area in recorded history. Luckily, I'm evacuated, but I'm about to die anyway from the extreme stress of watching my town get slowly ripped apart on the Weather Channel.

In the words of Ollie the Weatherman, "IT'S GONN' RAIN!"

i left florida two months ago. Hurricanes: something i don't really miss. I remember losing my power for several days and watching the winds buffet the 40ft pines like a punching bag. no thanks. i now only have to worry about softball-sized hail and tornadoes. seems like I'm still in Nature's wrath.

btw: i gotta call my friend in gulf breeze. they're gonna feel this one.

dennis is just getting to my house in birmingham, we better keep power
