I don't have a n64 yet, but i'll get it today or tommorow(if you read my other n64 thread, you'd understand.). My question is, who here has a n64 with zelda ocarina of time? zelda is the main reason i want a n64, and i assumed that if you owned a n64, you have zelda, but i came to a friends house and he didn't have it. Another question, is zelda the main reason to buy a n64? Please Reply

I had an N64 and never owned a zelda game. Conkers Bad Fur Day was my reason for buying it ^_^

You can get ocarina of time for gamecube now.

i dont have a gamecube, i dont want a gamecube or it's games, i want a n64 because i am trying to get great retro games that i dont have. Also gamecube costs $100. n64 costs less than $30.

Yes, Zelda is without a doubt worthy of purchasing an n64 for it. I own the game and have probably beaten it about 4-5 times. Also get Mario 64 and Goldeneye :)

You'll want:
Zelda: Ocarina of Time
GoldenEye 007
Perfect Dark
Winback
Super Mario 64
Mario Kart 64
Super Smash Bros.
Conkers Bad Fur Day

That plus Majora's Mask, Killer Instinct Gold and Wetrix if you like puzzle games.

I have the N64 and Ocarina of Time is a must. I have really great memories of that game. The Rumble Pack does add a hint of interactivity between the gamer and the game; it wouldn't hurt to pick it up.

Majora's Mask is just as good if not better, but some people don't like it. Fools, I say.
If you do get it, make sure to get the N64 expansion pack because the game needs it. I remember when I first got my used N64 and the surprise that I needed to shell out another $30 to play my game.

Regarding Zelda: the definitive OoT experience is to be had on the N64. The GC pad doesn't do a particularly good job with the game imo.

I own an N64 Zelda cart, but I stopped putting it my N64 it after Miyamoto signed it for me :smoking:

...YOU BASTARD GIVE THAT CART TO ME NOW!

OoT is my favorite game of all time. Like, no other game comes within lightyears of it. On a scale of one to ten, it would be a number incomprehensible by the human mind.

And that's an understatement.

Just get a GC instead, then buy Zelda: The Wind Waker instead, since it comes with the Ocarina of Time on a seperate CD. That way you get 2 Zelda games.

i played Z: OOT on an emulator too. beat the game that way too actually. got an n64 controller usb adaptor to play it. pretty sweet.

oh, and wayne gretzy hockey for n64. i have logged hundreds upon hundreds of hours on my friend's copy of that game. good times, good times.

Plus i don't have enough $ to get a GC.

When I (re)bought my N64, I also got:

Ocarina of time
Star Fox
Conker's bad fur day
Winback
Rogue Squadron
All of the Turok games.

OoT is NOT the same game on GC. N64 is the way to go, with a gold cart if you can get it. If you can only find the grey (like I had way back then), two words: crooked cartridge.

Anyone who hasn't played the game without the joy of Swordless Link is a noob.

What is different about the gold cartridge? Edit: I'm Going to get a rumble pak, since a new one costs $2.22 on amazon.
