try diabling hyperthreading in your BIOS!
i did this tonite, and played for 3-4 hours... when i usually only last 30 before crash to desktop or pc reboot.
i remembered this helpewd a lot with the game soldier of fortune as well... stuttering is there... but i can play!!!!
