Another preload tonight?

Look a couple hours ago. There was a dip in the Bandwidth there, but no pre-load. Don't get your hopes up..

I think they'll announce gold before theres another preload

maybe its a final preload and a gold annoucment !! :imu:

If you are referring to the thread that was just locked HERE then that post is over a month old.

Edit: Yup old.

The dip earlier isn't what happens before a new download. The squiggly lines happening now are. Could be:

1. A Steam platform update
2. Yet another CS:S update (another RC rejection?)
3. Another preload (please oh please)
4. Modular interference in the interstices (server problems)

this is what i love bout these forums. Gabe can barely fart without someone on hl2 knowing about it. Theres people out there actually looking at these graphs & shit..i salute you !

The graphs have actually been our best indication of when some sort of update is coming. If you care about the updates, care about the graphs....

heh thats true!

gabe must have to watch everything he does, i bet like that guy said, there are gas meters around the valve HQ and when abnormal gas levels are detected a warning light comes on saying "GABES FARTED!"

lol i really cant wait for HL2 but im not pondering over graphs of content server bandwidth!

Though its quite impressive, what could i do with 15,000mbps :)

You could brag about it. And download 15 000 (legal) movies at the same time at a nice speed :E

Who knows. Maybe there's another preload before the release. I won't break down and cry if the game goes gold soon though.

the available bandwidth has been at 9000 since the first preload way back when...doesnt mean a thing.

i believe they're talking about the usage patterns, not the available bandwidth.

I don't believe its a big enough dip in the bandwidth for a preload, I'll place my money on a steam update or a small CS:S update. But please VALVe prove me wrong.

First of all, Dirk Pitt rules! Greatest series of books, ever.

And yes, it may be possible!

The bandwidth is there because they are uploading the rest of counterstrike: source (new textures for the rest of the levels and so forth)

geez...

drop it

from csnation.net:

CS: Source Preloading
Zips @ 10:32 am pdt - cstrike: source - 48 comments - hot topic (new comments!)
A recent email to Valve's Erik Johnson from a member at Halflife2.net sheds some light on why the latest CS: Source update was so massive in size.
We're preloadeding the rest of CS Source.
Contained within the latest update were texture files for a number of other maps as well as files dealing with waypoints and hostages.

um yes..that is about the preload from the other day. So lets just wait to see if anything does happen.

yes i know... what's your point?

my point is it has abso-****ing-lutely nothing to do with what is being talked about in this thread. the rest of cs:s was already prelaoded on the 24th.

now now ladies, lets not get our knickers in a twist

calm down pal, you must have alot of anger bulit up (or you are a kid that doesn't know better) to go jump on sombody like this...anyways uploading this much content takes a few days

It looks like a fair amount of content went across, but I would say it has probably only gone up for testing purposes. If it is successful then we may see something mid week as per usual.

The 'outage' on saturday was similar to the 'outage' when the first RC went in, so hopefully that was Valve marshalling the second RC.

This would make the latest block more likely to be an update than a preload.

the content was uploaded, the content has been preloaded to peoples computers already along with the last cs:s update (on the 24th, actually the update was on the 23rd, the email was the next day), what is so hard for you to grasp? are you truly this ignorant or are you just trying to act like a fool on purpose?

lol what is all that animosity for? That really made me laugh. You are berating him like he's a child.

Take a step back and take a deep breath.
