Maybe you want to post a link or something for those of us not....where-ever the hell you are?

BBC said:
Police have made safe a suspected car bomb in the heart of London.

Officers carried out a controlled explosion after reports of a suspicious vehicle parked in The Haymarket shortly before 0200 BST (0100 GMT).

The immediate area was cordoned off while police examined what they described as a "potentially viable explosive device".
BBC said:
A spokesman said: "Police were called to reports of a suspicious vehicle parked in The Haymarket, shortly before 2am this morning.

"As a precautionary measure the immediate area was cordoned off while the vehicle was examined by explosives officers. They discovered what appeared to be a potentially viable explosive device. This was made safe.
BBC said:
Intelligence sources said they were keeping an open mind on who was responsible for the car bomb. "All options, including the Irish, are open at this stage," said the source.
The Irish! D:

"Vehicle parked" ?

I heard this morning that a car swerved off the road and went into... something or other (I was in a rush this morning).

Anyway, gawd here we go again.

wtf is a "viable" explosive device?

ffs, I could toss a match down my shitter and it'd be a "viable" explosive device.

Sounds too poorly done for an experienced terrorist organization.

Probably a drunken man with a computer in his car.

Well if they say it was an explosive, it was an explosive. Whoever placed it hasn't a clue though.

LOL I love how they emphasised it could be the Irish. I find it somewhat worrying that the only reason this bomb was successfully identified was after it crashed. If it wasn't for the piss poor driver, it could've been successfully detonated by now.

Very little has been mentioned of the suspect as well, surely now that they have detained the device they should be questioning everyone and their mothers?

I jsut watched CNN when they showed it,not really sure what happened.

I heard the bomb was loaded with nails for that fun shrapnel effect.

terrible OP, btw

Well, I suppose it was good that it didnt blow up? Really, the police should be congratulated.

rofl, reminds me of what I do in real life. i'll say a lie, or something obviously wrong, and say "Shifty Eeeyyyss." and do the shifty eyes movement.

That explains why it took me two hours to get home...
My usual route home was cordoned off so I had to take a detour through the West End. Gridlocked from end to end and there were police and cordons everywhere, especially round Picaddilly Circus way. Still, could have been a lot worse than some traffic disruption.

You see, how are the police going to prevent this from happening again?

The bomb failing was sheer luck to everyone.

It was probably some drunk idiot who parked his car in some random spot. I can just imagine it now. He gets up in the evening (Hangover, didn't want to get out of bed) and turns on the news. A car bomb? Jesus! Oh God, I was driving through there last night, it could have killed me...huh...come to think of it, didn't I park my...OH HOLY JESUS THEY BLEW UP MY CAR!!

I definitly wasn't us Irish...no sir...
<_<
>_>

Won't be the IRA or any spin off group from reports of it being filled with nails and the like it seems whoever did it wanted to inflict maximum pain indiscriminately, most likely a psycho path or some extremist religious group.

I think it's a mistake to issue an official statement that says it was purely coincidental that they found the car. Wouldn't it be much better to say "our excellent anti-terrorist taskforce has successfully prevented a terrorist attack" rather than "lol so we found this bomb, almost killed a bunch of people, but glad we were lucky this time!"? Doesn't really comfort the people nor deter the terrorists.

Looks too much like an amateur job to have been performed by Al-Qaeda or some other organised terrorist group. Some whacko with too much time on his hand was probably behind it (although be might've been inspired by such organisations).

It's good that the UK has more public security cameras than any other country in the world.

Who says that surveilance is bad?

And people who like to have sex with their partners in public places.
