Forum member merc recently got the chance to visit Valve's Headquarters up in Seattle. While no new Half-Life 2 information was obtained, he did manage to extract a number of details about Counter-Strike: Source, and even got the chance to play it for a short time. Within the thread on our forums, he revealed how the game makes excellent use of its physics, how the graphics are on par with the quality of Half-Life 2's (bumpmapping effects, etc.) and how there's going to be support for both ground and air based vehicles, although they won't be included at the game's initial release.
Additionally, merc managed to take a new picture of Counter-Strike: Source. The quality isn't perfect, but it clearly shows the improvements to de_dust and the M4a1 rifle. Be sure to see it here.
