Hello everybody

First post in this part of the forums.

I'm working on a MOD/ Comic book as therapy and hobby ;)...
This is my latest model:

spider02lores.jpg

It's a model of Anti-riot Unit with a Slime Gun.
In ground mode (deployed legs) it's slow but steady.
Fast transportation is done trough the air.
The gun is not useable when airborne because of the recoil.
And off course gameplay reasons.

I hope you like it...

Ps. Sorry for the English...bedtime

Looks pretty nice overall. It'd be cool to see this thing in action. One thing I noticed was the texture is maybe a little bland. It looks still looks nice, I just think it could look better. Your english is fine btw.

ThanX for the comment...

There's no texture on the model. I guess It can look cooler with some decals, wear, symbols and numbers on it. But for now I like it without.

And I know....Really wish I could animate it...

Any recommendations? I work with Rhino...They use bongo for animation. Haven't used it yet. Not my leage ;)

BTW: Sorry about the double post...Will remember it in the future.

Looks good - nice rendering style with the lighting. Do you have a wireframe shot available?

Nice, but you should make the material a little more metalish looking. It depends if you want it to look urban or fresh new. Otherwise, looks really good with the lightning, but try using a raytracer to get better rendering results (if your not already using) And maybe you should make the red areas have more of a "red light" color, sorta glowing because now it just looks like someone painted red on it, doesnt look that realistic.

Good luck :)

ThanX Angel....you asked, you got it.

Ravioli....I understand the 'critique', but I do also like the cartoony style it No fancy glows and highlights. Simple...Maybe one day...When I'd like to do some texturing excercice...I love the modelling part more, isn't it obvious

Now above all I'd love to animate it...Will look into ot this weekend. But I have no prog and are a Noob...anny suggestions?

ThanX for the comments guys ;)

For animating, I would advise using a boning technique. Majorly because your object is not human, and also bones are a very good starter point IMO for animation.
