Good god, it has a quote directly from the group's website. You should base stories more off the facts held within the article than the source.

News outlets will be guilty of publishing mostly stories that fit their bias, but if those stories have facts/truth you need to take them in, too.

Diregarding a complete post/article/etc just because of the bias is foolish, take the stories in for the facts they provide.

I think the point is that, much like you, freerepublic.com is reactionary and prone to knee-jerkism. They have egg on their face because their desired effect (much like yours: rally support for troops while exposing the unpatriotic behaviour of the opposition) backfired ..and it was an whopper

Yeah, I was looking through the replies in that link and it annoyed me that so many were automatically assuming that it was liberals who did this. Just like they automatically assume every liberal is opposed to the war.

I didn't mention liberals at all in the post good god :/ It is ****ed up and the people should get their comeupance for any type of this shit during a funeral. I haven't had the time to be active on the forum due to the hurricane sorry.

Ahaha, protestw got smacked. :D

The reason why the word is censored is that they tried to spam attack HL2.net when they found out some posters have liberal viewpoints.
They were a bunch of dumbasses though, and got banned well in advance of ever doing anything.

They gave it a half-hearted effort with some making multiple accounts, but they gave up after a day or so, and the plan backfired when we ended up going over to their website instead.
There, everyone simply tore down their lame arguments and laughs were had by all. (All of us, at least.) :p
 
It was like 3 or so people from PW, which are just forum members and most likely not in any Chapter. If two or three other members and I of hl2.net just go on another forum and post stuff, is it "Hl2.net is doing it!"? No.
 
The weren't banned because they were conservatives who showed up.

They were banned because one of the HL2.net mods stumbled across the post on their website that said 'Hey, let's go spam attack that liberal forum' or whatever.
There was clear intent to do damage, and their entire organization is based on real-world flamebaiting.
Most of them were banned after their first posts, before they could flood the politics section.

I didn't say they were banned because they were conservative, a couple were banned without really doing anything wrong, some spammed and most were banned for reasons like that.

But the entire website being censored is retarded because it's a big political group and comes up a lot, and taking 3 FORUM goers of there spamming something as "Oh man, ************** planned an attack on hl2.net, it was PW, not just a few members on the forums, it was PW itself, *BANNED THE NAME FOREVER*" that's just dumb.

They allow anything there. There is no political/social moderation/censoring in that sense. The moderators only delete threads if it's like someone posting an image of tub - girl or something stupid like that, or if it's just "YOURE GAY. NO YOU. LOL YOURE GAY. NO LOL"

Hence why you have hardcore communists often on there in big debates with far right groups, etc. Even if you're not conservative it's a good board because all are welcome to come discuss whatever they please, nothing is censored from any side.

Unlike democraticunderground which bans people who disagree with the site's main ideology. (even states it in the rules, sad)

Gotta take the good with the bad in a completely uncensored political forum. There's not really that much racism anyway and the bit there is always gets owned and ripped to pieces in the threads anyway.

In all honesty do you think you would have created this thread had you known the truth behind the protest? ..somehow I dont think you would have

you still have yet to blast these religious nutjobs in the same way you did when you thought it was the "left" that was organizing the protest


oh and about PW ..I've spent extensive time there ...I think I racked up over 200 hundred posts :E ...while not all members are white supremacists, bigots, homophobes, religious nutjobs or blithering idiots ..it just seems that way because the ones who are, are very vocal in their opinions ...there are times I've started reading a thread and had to stop because of certain posters who make Pat Robertson seem like freakin gandhi. That forum is a cesspool of humanity ...but like I've already stated ..not all are like that ...it just seems that way

oh and it's pretty enjoyable to watch the odd sane person attack some of the more extreme members


there was this one liberal member who just jumped all over them when that story of the gay prostitute who worked for the white house press broke ...he just blasted them, got so many people pissed and was eventually banned for posting a nude picture of the male prostitue posing ..oh the memories /me wipes tear


oh and the PW's who invaded our little poltics forum got their asses handed to them on their own forum by some of our members. One of our members, who probably came from there anyways, started a thread asking PW members to swarm HL2.net in an attempt to shut us up ...I have a sneaking suspiscion that it was mostly aimed at little ol' me (yes I'm egotistical :E ). See PW often rallies their members to spam "liberal" forums ...I was just reading a thread which was a call to arms to spam a pyschic forum because some of the members had "liberal like tendicies" ...ya I know these people need to get a life
