im stuck where you are in a room with stairs that are broke and no where to go i found the ladder on the pipe but it takes me no where.

jump down the pipes, theres a valve sticking out of one, turn it... its kinda hidden though, but its there

Please advise, I've got the same issue (although I don't consider myself stupid). I can't find any valve for the life of me.

Is it on a big brown tube or on one of the smaller white pipes? Above or below the level of the crates (with HL symbol on wall)?

There's a door in the room (I think just to the left of you in that shot), remove the plank that blocks it with the gravity gun.

my god... when i play games unless im stuck on something for a week or 2 i dont bother and will spend hours wasted away in from of the TV/monitor trying to find something that was right under my nose in the first place... some people just need to start trying a little harder...
