Are there any good Doom 3 MODs out yet? I feel like I wasted my money.

There aren't alot of mods for Doom 3, right now it's just a bunch of tweaks and stuff.

I liked the first couple of hours... then, I remembered why I quit playing Doom. The game was so simple (not in a good way) and repetitive.

I love Doom 3 too, and ID in general. I also love Valve products. Still can't work out why the rest of the forum can't just like both, instead of saying "OMG D00m 3 iz 4 n00bZ0rz! Hl2 RoxxoRs it, s0 1t c@n'7 bE aNy g00d!". How do you know HL2 is going to 'Roxxor' it, when HL2 hasn't even been released?! And if it does, does it make Doom any less enjoyable?? Thought not. Long live Doom.

I like both. Can't everyone be more open minded? IMO you can't even call yourself a gamer if you're not willing so try or even recognise games for what they are.

Hrm, I'm in no way a HL2 fanboy, but I did not like Doom 3. I was highly anticipating it, but it really let me down. Sure, great graphics, but absolutely no gameplay features. At first, it was wonderfully scary, exciting and dark, but after a few levels, it became boring. I kept saying to myself... 'Oh I wonder what will be beyond this door... maybe... an imp!??!? No! They wouldn't be that repetitive' Sure enough there it was, every time. They atleast kept it interesting by putting in scary events every once and a while, but I found absolutely no replay value in Doom 3. Replaying the Single Player campaign would be tedious, and the multiplayer is plain and not at all innovative. I would much rather be playing a faster, more interesting game. The only reason my copy isn't up for bids on ebay, is because I'm waiting for some real mods to come out!

Same here...although from a technical standpoint HL2 is looking 10x better, so I'm not sure how long my D3 copy wil last.

Considering every room was scripted, (aka scripted when things are supposed to jump out, etc) you may be waiting a long time.

The DooM 3 multiplayer would be good if it wasn't so damn laggy!! As well as if there were actually some working servers to play on, every server I join I get a "server full" message .
