I've never had any non-Mac computers (except for some ancient machine many years ago which ran DOS) and now that macs use Intel processors now, there's even less reason to switch.

Problem: I had to set up Windows before I could install the orange box, naturally, and I wasn't exactly aware how fricking ginormous these games were, so I only set up about 16 GB on the Windows partition. This was enough to install HL2, Ep1, and Portal while leaving enough room for everything else I needed. I'd rather like to install Ep2 and/or Lost Coast and/or buy Ep3 at some point, but 16 GB isn't enough space and I can't seem to find a way to increase available space without completely wiping everything, re-partitioning, and installing Windows and the orange box from scratch. (I got the game on CD which would save me the trouble of downloading everything, but it's still a pain.)

So, is anyone here familiar with Macs and Boot Camp?

As far as I know the only way to do that is to create an image of the windows partition and repartition the drive, the install the image on the new partition.

I've got ya homeslice. I run an 24" iMac which I bootcamped and put Windows XP on a 60 GB partition. 60 GB is almost enough, I have quite a few games and about a month ago I too researched how to increase the partition size. It turns out there is a beta program out called CampTune. Don't ask me how to use it but doing research on it I read some hits and misses with the program. Some people reported it working flawlessly while a majority of the comments told of horror stories where it completely wiped their Windows partition.

The application offered by Paragon Software is called CampTune. It reminds me of my days as a Windows user, when I learned to love Partition Magic. CampTune makes it possible to resize the partition without having to delete it, and gives us the chance to increase or decrease hard disk space with a few clicks.

The way it works is really easy. You?ll have to create a bootable CD guided by CampTune. Then, you?ll have to reboot your Mac and boot through the newly created disk. As you do with Boot Camp, you?ll select the desired size of the new partition, then just click the Apply button.

So really the safest way to do it is to erase your partition under Boot Camp then re-partition with Boot Camp to a larger size. As I said earlier, with 60 GB i have: L4D, TF2, COD4, COD5, CSS, Mirrors Edge, and a few other games and programs. I have been tossing around the idea of repartitioning to 100 GB but I am always weary of something horrible happening leading to troubles.

All in all, you can try Camp Tune and hope for the best or just re-do the entire Boot Camp process over and make a larger partition. If you have any questions post here or PM me.

edit: IF YOU USE CAMP TUNE AND F*** YOUR WINDOWS OVER DON'T BLAME ME.*

Hm, thanks...

No worries about blaming you, since I don't really have anything of value on the Windows half anyway. Reinstall Windows? not that bad. Reinstall Orange Box off CD? not that bad, and I presume my Steam account would be intact, so I wouldn't even need to re-register or re-activate them. Reinstall AVG? not bad either (unless my internet goes down like it did all of yesterday).

There's nothing I'd need to back up (except maybe the saved games, which is easy enough to do, since the mac part knows everything the windows part is up to!)
