Is their any new RTS games in production to make use of HIGH end graphics engines? I love the games like C&C generals and Warcraft 3 and warhammer and rome... But what about something useing a engine thats made for well.. Todays videocards?

A RTS with user mod ability in mind? Like a FPS in the RTS world... "not like natural selection" Think Source engine "half-life 2" with the gameplay and viwe of warcraft 3."

Warhammer maxed out looks pretty damn good... I can't do it with my (crappy) card...
But natural selection would fit RTS in source!

The new LOTR RTS game looks freaking awsome. I really hope its good. It comes out the 6th of December.

Most strategy games have a frame rate counter included, take a notice at framerates late in the games. In Rise of Nations, my 9600 Pro would get only 15 fps late in the game. However, I wouldn't ever notice that because frame rates are not important with strategy games.

You can't have a high-end graphics in a strategy game because of the demands. A strategy game would be unplayable (on your computer) if a developer used the HL2 engine and threw 30 (or more) characters on screen at once.

Anyways, ensemble studios has been quiet for a while. Hopefully they should be announcing something soon. The LOTR strategy games looks intriguing until I realize its made by EA. Then I realize it is going to suck.
