I'm using the 32bit version right now,I have a AMD64 3500,I was wondering I would get a performance increase or something If I start using the 64bit Vista.

Read this first.

You would get a performance increase with more work related programs atm. Like compression (Winzip, Winrar etc), photoshop perhaps or media related programs. Not really in games unless current games are patched for it.

Only matters if you play 64-bit games, of which, there are none.....yet.

It's good to read that but it's pretty old and Vista is way better than what it was like in May this year.

Sure, there is a benefit - Microsoft will get more money if you purchase the 64bit version. ;)

I believe when you buy Vista all versions come on a single DvD. Meaning from Starter to Ultimate including both 32bit and 64bit. The Cd Key will define when package you get(Starter to Ultimate) and you get both 32bit and 64bit versions. I think thats how it works anyway.

So you could install both and then compare.

Do 32-bit programs work on the 64-bit edition?
