Hi, I use headphones with a mic as my primary hearing device in games, so I was wondering what would be the best soundcard that is relatively cheap. I don't need all that multichannel junk b/c I don't think my $40 Altec Lansing's support it. It seems no one could help me solve my sound issues in my previous thread, so may I please beg of you to give me a worthy reccomendation for a... good, cheap soundcard. Thx.

P.S. Someone in CS said that a Chaintech 7.1 is great for $25..

Both of those should work great.

If you wanted a bit higher quailty card Turtle Beach has always made very good quality cards. I know my old Turtle Beach 5.1 card is better quality than any Audigy in music. ;)

Be sure to check the ratings and reviews before buying. Let other people make mistakes. :D

Lol. But I don't buy things online. I buy them @ Fry's... hmmm

yes tomshardware is great, i am a big fan.. i went from a soundblaster live to the built in sound on my abit nf7-s 2.0 soundstorm ,, its 5.1 also .. as for headphones, i have an outboard home theater 5.1 reciever that i picked up a yard sale for $50. , I am looking a 5.1 headphones myself.. i am currently using my old beyerdynamic dt990 headphones from back in my radio days..

I am using Zalman's 5.1 headphones. After updating my soundcard drivers (soundstorm) they sound really good. Lacking a bit on the bass, but very good none the less.
