Any suggestions for decreasing lag or enhancing frame rate

Get cable internet? Exit any programs that connect to the internet while you're playing...

And make sure your firewall (if any) is allowing the program. Mine went slow because the dumb Windows FIrewall was blocking it but not completely...so it appeared laggy.

I have cable connection 112k,3.6 ghz dual cpu Intel 4, 195 Ram *Rolls eyes*, and 120g harddrive, my firewall isn't blocking it and nothing else is trying to connect to the internet.

Two things are bottenecking your computer:

1. 195MB of ram. Uh, Windows XP can hardly run on that. You need at least 512MB they're so cheap now.

2. Your video card is sharing your RAM, so guess what? It's even more slower.

It's your video card...

Use the lowest settings possible and fiddle with the console; disable the skybox I think it was something like r_3dsky 0.

Yeah r_3dsky 0 gave me back about 8-10 fps at 1024x768 with all max settings.

Sorry I haven’t replied to your PM but it says I must be a member for 5 days first so I thought I would just drop it in here.

I am at the outskirts of Kirkintilloch and I have loved Half-Life since about 1999 I think, not too sure but shortly after its release. + Only got into Counter Strike recently due to upgrade to broadband.

dual 3.6ghz cpus but yet only 195mb ram, am i getting that right!?

get 512mb of ddr ram and an ati 9600/9700/9800 and youll be able to run it very respecatbly, pretty well actually, no need to get a new pc!!!

you can get those parts from probably £200-£300 on ebay
