The topic says it all. I have all these spyware and adware stuff that is un my msconfig startup which is unchecked, and it has been there forever. Haven't found a way to remove the visual ability of that. I'd like to remove a ton of that stuff, so that I don't accidentally activate some of it some time.

Id love to know this too - or atleast somehow disable quictime from shoving itself in startup everytime I use it

Yeah. I love quicktime, but have the same issue you have when it comes to realplayer. Sometimes I have to use it to open certain files. And it always adds itself in there.

yes, i had the same problem with quiktime and real player. just search the computer(start search) for qttask. it will find the file. then all you have to do is delete it and it wont bother you again.
also for this to work it needs to be stopped, so just un-ckeck it and restart.

Funny enough, QTTASK and avgcc32 are the only ones I will allow on my computer. I love quicktime, use it all the time. So I leave it there. And the AVG thing is my antivirus program.

for most things it's just in the options, like quicktime. you just need to look.

for spyware, boot in safe mode and uninstall/delete. if it doesn't go away, find the name of the spyware and send them an email threatening them, if they don't tell you how to remove it.

what does that mean, you will still be able to use quick time, but the file qttask will be gone.

Well, since it keeps putting itself in there, I've stopped trying to remove it. It doesn't bother me. I use quicktime like 20 times a day.

yes but now you know how to stop it coming back right?
did you do it yet.
when i said it needed to be stopped i ment going into msconfig and unchecking it.
