any way to recover a CD key from an installed hl2?

I'm moving hl2 to another computer, and I can't seem to find my CD key. Now hl2 is already installed and working on the original computer, is there a way I can find what my reg key is?

just run steam on the other machine and it'll run if you login to the same account, just install what you need first.

Can only run one instance of the same steam account online at any given time though.

It may be different for the CD version, but steam version is basically all the info is stored server end, so just logging into the account it knows what you should and shouldn't have and who you are.
