Any way to stop autosave?

Hi, I got my copy of hl2 and am thoroughly enjoying it even though it crashes if I rush through an autosave too quickly.

My computer basically hits the min specs but only just although it runs the game quite hapilly at 1400x1050 res and most textures on high.

The one problem is(as said above) it crashes when there is too much happenening at an autosave point, basically I have to stop still and hope noone is around to shoot me when it starts saving.

So is there any way to disable autosaves?

Looking into this myself so if i find out how ill get back to you. Really annoying isn't it? Every other corner it seems to autosave and everytime it does it causes the game to stutter :flame:
