Sign me up for this shit.
If you preorder any version (I'm getting the collector's edition baby!), you also get a free soundtrack CD and a poster.

The collector's edition includes all that. You can preorder it, but obviously you won't get it until October when the game releases. :P
It's avail. for PC, 360, and PS3 I believe. :bounce:

Nah, I've seen jack about this game except for a few boring screenshots and tons of concept art.

When they actually start showing gameplay videos, my stance may change.

Holy shit I didn't notice that leg popping out before :o

**** that, it's gonna be shit, **** Bethesda, honestly, I wish we'd just get Van Buren instead.

In before NMA fanboy crying. But seriously, this game is looking better and better. I can understand Bethesda not wanting to release an overload of actual media because the vocal minority of diehards seriously are willing to register and start debates on just about any gaming forums.

I just wish people would take it more like an IP borrowing from Fallout cannon instead of hoping Bethesda would somehow sprinkle around some fairy dust and become an exact copy of Black Isle. Some of the concerns are warranted, I actually loathe the Elder Scrolls games - but some of the NMA nerdrage gets to be extremely obnoxious.

This. I've never like elder scrolls but i'm still looking forward to this. Although admitedly i've never played fallout before.

There's a sizable (or a vocal minor) demographic of gamers that wishes Fallout 3 would just be like Fallout 1 and 2; honestly I have never played Fallout 1 or 2, and that may be why I'm looking forward to this. I kinda like to think of this as "the Fallout for non-Fallout fans".
Whether or not it's "true" to the original Fallout style and setting, I think that this will make for a very good game.

I've never heard of Fallout before this thread. Just read up on it and it sounds intriguing to say the least. I'm not much of an RPGer, but this one might bring me into the fray. I'll be keeping a watchful eye on this one.

My concerns with this game are less over whether they'll make a 'true' Fallout game, but rather over whether they'll manage to make a game with some decent writing. The story, dialogue and voice acting all stank in Oblivion. An RPG without some good writing behind it is no RPG I want to spend money on.

its obvious that this will have nothing in common with the previous Fallouts (apart from the setting of course) so my expectations are pretty low. I'll try it, if its boring and dumbed down like Oblivion, no thanks.

As long as this isn't like oblivion i'll be happy but htat might be asking a bit much from bethesda :|

To be honest, I will probably end up buying the game myself, because it's Fallout, but I'm not expecting a great/good game.. Only decent.

I'm preordering. I can't help it--it's Fallout.

Terrified it will have similar controls to Oblivion? Yep.

Too hyped for another Fallout game to care that it might suck like Oblivion? Pretty much.

Damnit I liked Oblivion..but it did feel very empty and meaningless. I'm holding my hype with this game, but it is looking deliciously awesome. Here's hoping for a good free roaming fps

I didn't think the story was that bad, but you're right; the dialoque/voice acting was a little on the corny side. Part of the problem was that the facial animation was really, really bad. The characters showed more emotion in their voices than they did with their faces. I hope they fix it for Fallout 3 since it's going to be running on the same engine.

How much is that special edition pre-order?

I'm pretty sure Beth are fully aware of the various criticisms leveled at them regarding Oblivion and like any games company hoping to stay in business they'll do a better job with Fallout 3. You can get fallout 1 & 2 in a combo pack and you can still get them to run (even on Vista 64). Enjoyable enough games (I'm presently replaying fallout 1) but nowhere near as OMFG awesome as certain sites would have you believe, and the combat is deeply annoying at times as your NPC party members have a bad habit of shooting you or each other half the time (save regularly, esp before fights).

The only real drawback to fallout 3 for me is a probable lack of scale to the game world, though a lot of that depends on how they cope with the space between locations, whether it's seamless (like Oblivion) or whether it's transitional with fast tracking on a larger world as in the original games.

I highly doubt Bethesda haven't learned from their mistakes. I just hope this runs better than Oblivion did, cus hell I still have problems with that game today. The vast seamless world idea is good in theory, but I'd rather have the odd loading screen than highly irritating pop-up and hitching.

I've never played any Fallout games before, and before hearing about Fallout 3 I'd never even heard of the series. My only concern canon-wise is how seriously I can take mutants. And Christ if I hear that dark-elf voice again I'm gonna start blowing up Bethesda cars.

Please, for the love of god have good writing and voice-acting.

I loved Fallout 1 and 2 but if Bethesda pulls their Oblivion shit with this, maaaaaaaaaaaaaan.

Fallout 1 and 2 were still awesome to me despite their olllllldness thanks primarily to the extraordinarily meaty sound-effects.

Poland gets a better, more functional CE. Vault water flask FTMFW.

Why should I get riled up about the contents of a collector's edition? People, don't be stupid (although you are fully capable of being), my concern is content not the container.

Definitely reordering and buying collectors edition.

And Christ if I hear that dark-elf voice again I'm gonna start blowing up Bethesda cars.

I lol'd.

I think I'd kill a puppy if I had to sit through any of the NPCs from Oblivion again. I didn't hate the game until I heard the guards.

What's the ghoul lifespan again?

If there's no Harold, Beth better give me something equally cool.

That also annoys me, the art-direction etc is shit, just look at the ghouls and super mutants, ugh..

And they've devolved the ghouls into a "zombie"..

The super mutants are quite different, less 1950's SCIENCE! monster and more orcish.

Ghouls seem fine to me since they always struck me as looking like zombies any way.

BTW I can't remember. Are all muties considered enemies now?

Very rarely pre order anything. Unless I find something that hypes me up about this game, then I won't be getting soon.

Im pre-ordering it just to spite Mikael and all his obnoxious NMA fantards. The more you asswads complain, the more I'll support Bethesda.

Heh, why, pray tell, should I be annoyed with someone buying a game? It's your problem, not mine.

Mikaels ok. I like to loiter at NMA for the LoLs, Brother None is hilarious (in a laugh at way). :dozey:

Personally I'm wanting to see some footage of the game, however assuming it's reasonable I'll probably buy it.
