Anybody here have God of War?

I'm thinking about buying this, it got excellent ratings. 9.3 from gamespot and 9.8 from IGN. Can anyone recommend it?

I don't have it, but absolutely everyone has been saying how universally good it is. Unless you're squeamish of course.

It was fun. I sold it back after beating it however....I had little interest in playing through it again. It is a good game though. I'd probobly suggest you rent it first. I wish I had....I beat it fast enough to justify only renting it.

It's a rental if you ask me as long as you can spend like 10 hours on it. It took me like 7-8 hours to beat it once and the 2nd time it was kinda boring on god mode because everything just has 4x the hp and 4x the attack power. It's just annoying.

I rented and finished it. Amazing game. I definitley recommend it.

Amishslayer has a point though. Without multiplayer, there is no replay value IMO.

I never purchase Xbox games unless they are RPGs as I know they will take a while in beating. You are probably wondering why, but the reason being is I normally beat games the day I get them... and alas, no replay value.

I've been meaning to try out God of War but I always seem to forget about it at the rental store (and when I do remember it's out of stock).

Those commercials advertising the game are stunning. I'm surprised they got away with as much as they did -one commercial features decapitations, and in another (my fav) the commercial ends with it raining blood. They're right up there with the GTA commercials in memorability...I like them.

Well first off...it's a PS2 game

Games are worth $50 when they have a kickass story or are just plain fun too. I'm not sorry I paid for MGS2 & 3 because their stories kick serious ass. God of War's story was average but I was hoping God Mode was cooler. I'll stick to DMC3.
